A double from Jairo Arrieta turned the game around in the first half. His first was a tidy far-post finish with his left after Josh Williams fed him in the box. Zusi's careless turnover created the next one. This time Arrieta cranked a right-footed shot from distance that beat Andy Gruenebaum.
Cole Grossman picked up two yellow cards in stoppage time to earn an ejection.
Kansas City held 68 percent of possession and fired off 25 shots, but couldn't find a way back into the match.
