The heat hit triple digits but the scoreline couldn't muster even one. The New England Revolution held on for a scoreless draw against Sporting Kansas City.
KC held onto over 62 percent of the possession and cranked off 16 shots to the Revs' eight.
The best chance of the match fell to the Revs, however. Ryan Guy, playing as the lone striker in a mismatched New England lineup, executed a picturesque diving header from a corner which Jimmy Nielsen batted off the line.
