A Calen Carr double helped the Houston Dynamo beat 10-man Sporting Kansas City 2-1. The win extends Houston's unbeaten streak to five. The Dynamo still haven't lost in BBVA Compass Stadium.
The hosts opened the scoring midway through the first half. Will Bruin tip-toed through a handful of blue jerseys before slipping the ball through a crowd to Carr. The helmeted striker squirted the ball inside the far post.
Sporting KC equalized minutes before the half when a Kei Kamara cross carved out a penalty shot that he took and finished. The momentum didn't last. Peterson Joseph slid into the back of Carr minutes after the restart to earn a straight red.
The Dynamo exploited the man advantage, with Carr somehow pushing a deflected Brad Davis feed into the net.
