Seattle Sounders FC 2-1 Colorado Rapids: Steve Zakuani makes emotional return
The game action, which saw Seattle win for the first time in 10 tries, took second billing to the return of Zakuani against the team he last faced, over 14 months ago.

Steve Zakuani made his long-awaited return from injury as the Seattle Sounders snapped a nine-game winless run by beating the Colorado Rapids 2-1.
Early in the second half, Alvaro Fernandez scored his first goal of the season. The Rapids let him run unmarked through the box to head home a Mauro Rosales corner. Fernandez celebrated by leaping over the advertising boards to emphatically embrace several Sounders substitutes.
Rosales assisted the second as well. His corner bounced back out to him, so the Argentine curled a cross into the box again. This time Eddie Johnson jumped highest to head the ball past Matt Pickens. EJ marked his eighth goal of the season by ripping off his jersey and throwing it on the turf, glaring into the middle distance ala Mario Balotelli.
Omar Cummings scored the consolation for Colorado. He shook Patrick Ianni to one-time a deep Luis Zapata cross into the net.
The Rapids thought they had the equalizer when Cummings tipped home a Jeff Larentowicz shot, but it was called offside. Instead, the 39,000 in CenturyLink Field cheered wholeheartedly as Zakuani made his first appearance since Brian Mullan snapped his leg over 14 months ago. Mullan clapped as the winger earned his first few minutes, but there was an even more touching moment. After Seattle closed out the win, Mullan and Zakuani shook hands and exchanged jerseys.
