Montreal Impact 1-3 Sporting Kansas City: Three-goal fightback earns road victory
After taking the lead in the second half, Montreal conceded three times, two of which came from the penalty spot.

Sporting Kansas City sent the Montreal Impact to a third straight loss after a 3-1 result at Stade Saputo. Patrice Bernier opened the scoring for Montreal in the second half, but penalty kick goals from Kei Kamara and Graham Zusi and a late strike from Jacob Peterson earned a comeback win.
Coming off back-to-back 3-0 defeats and with rumored signing Alessandro Nesta in attendance, the Impact had the better of the first half, and should have scored on multiple occasions. Felipe pulled the strings as Justin Mapp, Davy Arnaud and Marco Di Vaio spurned good scoring opportunities.
The home side did open the scoring five minutes into the second half. Felipe got on the end of a Zarek Valentin long ball and squared to Bernier at the top of the box. The Canada international was unmarked and made no mistake, finishing first-time with the side of his foot.
Bernier went from hero to villain just a few minutes later, when a Sporting KC cross bounced and hit his arm, resulting in a penalty kick. Kamara stepped up and buried the spot kick for the equalizer.
Head coach Jesse Marsch was livid after Montreal conceded another penalty kick with 15 minutes to play, when Arnaud pulled down Soony Saad in the box off a corner kick. Yet again, Sporting KC took advantage from the spot, as Zusi converted to give his team the lead.
The points were sealed in the 83rd minute when Roger Espinoza found Peterson, whose half-volleyed shot deflected off the head of Shavar Thomas and past a helpless Donovan Ricketts in the Montreal goal.
