Colorado Rapids 3-0 Portland Timbers: Rapids snap losing streak with convincing victory
After back-to-back losses, the Colorado Rapids bounced back with a convincing 3-0 scoreline against the Portland Timbers.

The Colorado Rapids ran out 3-0 victors against the visiting Portland Timbers, putting on a convincing display at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
Jaime Castrillon opened the scoring in the 18th minute, getting his leg on an inch-perfect Hunter Freeman cross to direct it into the net. Conor Casey doubled the lead with his first goal of the season just a few minutes later, putting his head on a floated ball from Brian Mullan.
Outplayed for most of the game, Portland and under-fire head coach John Spencer had no response for the Colorado attack, and the Rapids compounded their misery with another goal in the 89th minute. A porous Portland defense allowed Tony Cascio to get around the back and put a ball into the path of Jamie Smith, who bundled the ball into the net from close range.
The loss leaves the Timbers in eighth place in the West, with 16 points from 14 games and just won win in their last five in all competitions.
Colorado keeper Matt Pickens tied the franchise wins record with 39.
