Sporting Kansas City 0-1 Chicago Fire: Fire torch host on hot summer day
The Fire turned up the heat in sweltering Kansas City, claiming a 1-0 away win on Friday night's lone MLS matchup.

Chicago burned Sporting Kansas City on the counter for a 1-0 road win in the triple-degree heat of LIVESTRONG Sporting Park.
Sebastian Grazzini, whose contract option was exercised this week, remained in Illinois since he hasn't trained consistently this week. His replacements in attack were effective enough without him, the one goal holding up thanks to Sean Johnson sweating out 27 Sporting KC shots (five on target).
Nearly an hour into the match, a Sporting cross into the Chicago box was booted upfield. Marco Pappa picked up the clearance and ran half the length of the field before feeding Chris Rolfe in the opposite box. Rolfe one-touched a pass back to Pappa, who tucked the ball past Jimmy Nielsen.
Chicago hasn't dropped any points from a leading position this season, and this game was no anomaly.
