FC Dallas 0-0 Chivas USA: Bore draw in Frisco
Frisco, Texas was treated to a rather drab scoreless stalemate when Chivas USA came to town.
By Zac Lee Rigg
Brandon Wade
The draw between FC Dallas and Chivas USA featured zero goals, exactly one card and four shots on target. Dallas held the edge in possession (57 percent) and shots on target (three), but the game ended 0-0.
Chivas USA had the best chance of the game when Kevin Hartman spilled a Juan Agudelo shot. Alejandro Moreno jumped on the rebound but somehow managed to clank the ball into the upright.
Dallas had opportunities as well, an audacious 40-yard Jackson blast troubling Dan Kennedy and Brek Shea spurning some good looks. But the breakthrough never came.
The game's only yellow card came in stoppage time, Oswaldo Minda picking up a booking that will mean he is suspended for the Goats' next match.
The point lifts Dallas off the Western Conference basement, albeit temporarily. The Portland Timbers could leapfrog FCD once more with a result against the Seattle Sounders on Sunday. Chivas USA moves up to tied for fifth.
