Chicago Fire 2-1 FC Dallas: Fire wins Brimstone Cup

Marco Pappa assisted the equalizer, won a penalty and cleaned up the rebound to help Chicago come from behind against Dallas.

For the first time in a decade, the Chicago Fire won the Brimstone Cup. In their only meeting with FC Dallas this year, the Fire come from behind to win 2-1.

The game was defined by two penalties. Both came in the second half with the score tied at one apiece. Sean Johnson saved Blas Perez's effort and tipped it out of bounds. Kevin Hartman also made a block on his spot kick, but pushed the ball back into play. There, Marco Pappa, who clearly entered the box illegally before the kick was taken, cleaned up.

The goal stood.

In the first half, Matt Hedges opened the scoring, finishing a rebound from a corner. It was the rookie's third start of the season.

Sebastian Grazzini scored just before the break with a gorgeous curling ball from the top of the box. His later penalty wasn't nearly as pretty.

Dallas still hasn't won away in 2012 and is riding an eight-game winless run.
