The Colorado Rapids earned their first away point of the season in a 2-0 win against FC Dallas. The match saw the Hoops spend over half the game with only nine men after red cards by Daniel Hernandez and Blas Perez.
In the 34th minute, Hernandez went hard into a challenge and referee Mark Geiger did not hesitate in showing the midfielder his second yellow after he was booked for dissent 10 minutes earlier.
Just three minutes later, the home side was down to nine. This time, Geiger showed Perez a straight red for leaving his foot up in an aeriel challenge with Colorado's Drew Moor.
The away side made its two-man advantage count in the second half, scoring twice. First, Brian Mullan found the head of Jaime Castrillon for the opener, then Martin Rivero collected a cross in the box and had plenty of time to pick out his corner to make it 2-0.
It wasn't all good news for the away side, however. Forward Omar Cummings left the match in the first half with a sprained ankle, and will be further evaluated on Monday.
