The Seattle Sounders put together a dominant home performance, taking out the LA Galaxy with a 4-0 drubbing in front of 60,000 strong at CenturyLink Field.
The Sounders got on the board right off the bat, and it was the red-hot Eddie Johnson who grabbed his 10th goal of the season, getting his head on the end of a Mauro Rosales cross and steering the ball expertly into the far corner.
Five minutes into the second half, Seattle added a second. Josh Saunders came out to smother a through ball, but his challenge popped the ball in the air. Fredy Montero was quick to find it and swivel around to power an excellent half-volley, which Saunders could only palm into the back of the set.
The home side was in devastating form, and made it three just a few minutes later. Again Saunders came out to clear the ball, but it fell to Alex Caskey who lobbed over the stranded goalkeeper from 35 yards out. It was quite the way for the rookie to score his first MLS goal.
There was still time for Seattle to add some shine to the scoreline, as Andy Rose also scored his first MLS goal, finishing off a cross from Marc Burch.
