Chivas USA 0-1 Philadelphia Union: Freddy Adu back-heel stands up for nine-man Philly
Philly jumped up to sixth in the East thanks to a Freddy Adu goal and Chivas USA not taking advantage of a two-man advantage.

Chivas USA's paradoxical record continues: The Goats have won every single away game and lost every home game this season. The Philadelphia Union were the latest beneficiaries of Chivas' hosting generosity, riding a Freddy Adu back-heel goal to a 1-0 win despite going down to nine men.
Adu kicked -- well, more flicked -- things off shortly before half. Michael Farfan zigged and zagged his way down the right, turning Ante Jazic in and out before laying the ball across the goalmouth. James Riley slipped as he attempted to clear, and Adu flicked the ball in off the post with his heel.
Adu's delicate finish juxtaposed with the brute power of his teammates' tackles late in the match. In the 75th minute Keon Daniels swung and upended Ryan Smith, earning a straight red. Ten minutes later Gabriel Farfan slid into James Riley with such shuddering force it broke Riley's shinguard. The benches dumped onto the field, shoving and hissyfitting, as the referee quickly recalled which pocket he'd slid the red card into a few short minutes earlier.
Still -- even with a two-man advantage, 66 percent of possession and 21 shots -- Chivas USA lost.
