The Vancouver Whitecaps picked up their fifth clean sheet in seven matches as they held FC Dallas scoreless in a tightly-contested 1-0 win.
The lone goal of the match came from the Whitecaps Brazlian forward Camilo, who whizzed through the Dallas defense in the 11th minute and angled a beautiful shot to the far post by Chris Seitz to put his side on the board.
From there, Dallas pressed the issue but couldn't break down the sturdy resistance put up by one of the league's stingiest backlines. The visiting Hoops saw more of the ball and had the better of the chances but Whitecaps' goalie Joe Cannon refused to be beaten.
The win moves Vancouver up to third in the Western Conference table while FCD slips down to fifth. Next week, the Whitecaps will travel to Ohio to take on the Columbus Crew at Crew Stadium. Dallas will try and pick up the pieces against the league's top team RSL next week at FC Dallas Stadium.
