And that's it. Vancouver spoils Montreal's debut in MLS with a 2-0 win. Great start for the Whitecaps though with Le Toux already on the board.
  • 90'
Professional half from the Whitecaps. They've put this match away cleanly after going 2-0 up and there's very little time left. Not a horrible debut for Montreal but certainly it doesn't look like the result will be a positive one.
  • 88'
    SubstitutionEric Hassli Darren Mattocks
  • 87'
OFF THE POST!! Montreal survives another attack from Vancouver with the woodwork to thank. Rochat with a hit on his left foot and it's just pushed onto the post to stay out.
  • 85'
Hassli took that one on the volley and put it on frame. Great technique, but not good enough to make it 3-0.
  • 83'
Vancouver doing a very nice job of putting this match away. Holding the ball very well.

SubstitutionCamilo Da Silva Sanvezzo Matthew Watson

Still some time left for Montreal, but the team will need to get a goal soon. Vancouver has looked the better side throughout much of this match, but you wouldn't bet against the Impact finding the net with the way it's been going for the last quarter of an hour.
  • 74'
Koffie with a hit from range for Vancouver that goes wide. Both sides still trying to find goals.
  • 72'
    SubstitutionJustin Braun Andrew Wenger
  • 71'
Arnaud with a hit from range that forces a save out of Cannon, though it may have been headed over anyway. Corner to the Impact.
  • 69'
Nyassi now breaking down the left. He's looked very good tonight, running through the middle and down both wings. Really solid addition to this team.
  • 68'
Another hard tackle comes flying in. Hassli down on the pitch from a boot up in the ribs.
  • 65'
Changes coming in now, with Jordan Harvey entering the match.
  • 64'
    SubstitutionJustin Mapp Michael Fucito
  • 64'
    SubstitutionDavide Chiumiento Jordan Harvey
  • 61'
Vancouver surviving two scares in a short time. Lee clears a headed corner off the line and then a scramble has to be pushed out of the box. Not time to relax yet for the home side.
  • 59'
Nyassi with arguably the best chance of the game for Montreal. Turned on his left and ripped his shot up over goal.
  • 58'
    Yellow Card M. Bonjour
  • 57'
And that's a perfect example of what having so many individual players can bring to a team. The dummy from Hassli that set Camilo through was fantastic.
  • 55'
    Goal Camilo Da Silva Sanvezzo
  • 54'
What a GOAL!!!! Camilo.. and it's going to be hard to describe this one. A great team move and he finishes it off with a great individual effort. 2-0.
  • 52'
Free kick for Vancouver is wasted. Looked pretty to start, but nothing on the end of the ball.
  • 50'
Chance for Vancouver again after a corner, blocked away.
  • 49'
Le Toux tries to slip Camilo through. Clever thought, but Ricketts was off his line quickly to deal with the danger.
  • 47'
He's back up and bouncing around, and play is back moving as well.
  • 46'
We're back underway. Nyassi down on the pitch early, stopping play before it really got going.
  • Not much goalmouth action in the first half. You can see the genuine rivalry feelings on the pitch, and Le Toux is already making his impact with Vancouver. The second half is set up to be a good one.
  • 45' + 1'
And there was a moment of worry right at the end of the half, with Mapp trying to play in Nyassi. Davidson did really well to cut that out and the whistle goes. 45 minutes in the books, stick around for the second half.
  • 45'
Looks like there will be about a minute added onto the end of the half. Both sides can walk away feeling somewhat good about how things have gone. For Vancouver, the goal is the big talking point, but Montreal responded well enough to not have many heads hanging low.
  • 43'
Nice work from Hassli tracking back to win the ball.
  • 41'
One thing you have to give Montreal is that the team has been very dangerous on the break. Nyassi and Mapp are breaking forward regularly, but the crosses in to Braun have been lacking.
  • 40'
Dragging on toward halftime here and Camilo was just caught offside. A bit early starting the run.
  • 37'
Really, not many good chances so far in this match. Le Toux obviously had the one that he put away and Mapp had a decent look that he put over, but the final ball is lacking for both teams.
  • 33'
This Vancouver team has some very clever players in it. Going to be a real handful for teams to deal with. Montreal is holding up well at the moment and even coming into the game some.
  • 29'
Le Toux pulls one back dangerously across the box but it evades everybody and the danger is cleared. Montreal still struggling to deal with Vancouver's movement up front.
  • 28'
    Yellow Card Patrice Bernier
  • 27'
More movement through the middle of the pitch as the match has settled down some. Braun ends up winning a corner for Montreal.
  • 23'
Davide Chiumiento is causing some real problems and flashing plenty of skill in the process. He, Hassli and Le Toux are looking like a real problem to deal with..... But Montreal is back down at the other end and Mapp just had a snap shot at goal. Over the top, but a warning that this team could be dangerous on the break.
  • 19'
    Yellow Card Felipe Martins
  • 19'
    Yellow Card Felipe Martins
  • 19'
Sloppy foul. Martins runs up the back very harshly and picks up a yellow card in the process. Already some chippy play in the match, showing that this rivalry has transferred to MLS like so many others before it.
  • 16'
Best spell of the gamer for Montreal. Mapp is starting to get involved down the right nicely and offering a new outlet. Final shot is well saved but a better bit of holding the ball for the visiting side and some positive sings coming out.
  • 12'
Vancouver really looking much the better side in the early going. Not shocking really, and Hassli is slipped in behind the defense with a clever flick. Well played by the defense to only concede a corner.
  • 8'
The Imapct are now grabbing a bit of the game, but only for a moment. Fast pace to open things up.
  • 6'
Vancouver looking sharp after the early misstep. Knocking the ball around calmly.
  • 5'
What a start this is for Vancouver. Most people would have expected good returns from Le Toux, but who would have thought it was coming this early?
  • 4'
    Goal Sebastien Le Toux
WOW, we've got an early goal and it's Le Toux slipping in behind and giving Vancouver an early lead. 1-0 to the home side.
  • 1'
Sanna Nyassi with the first shot of the game. Not much on it, but a sloppy start from Vancouver leads to an early break.

We're off and running! Welcome back Major League Soccer!
  • Very interesting match for you here. Le Toux playing in behind Hassli on one side and some nice attacking options coming in with Montreal, including Justin Braun and Davy Arnaud.
  • Plenty of MLS action to look forward to tonight and tomorrow, with LA and RSL set to play the late fixture tonight and New York heading to Dallas tomorrow mid day. We're just a few minute out from the opening kick. Stay tuned.
