Barely touched the ball, but the D.C. United man tried to push the tempo with quick distribution.
Composed and tidy, DeLaGarza offered very little going forward when some width down the right could have helped.
Handled anything thrown into the box well, especially crosses from deep.
Ineffectual. Again, didn't push forward enough to influence the game. Was replaced by Loyd in the second half.
Stepped forward into midfield with the ball well and was crucial to the U.S.'s positive distribution from the back.
Though tidy in possession, the Colorado midfielder didn't impose himself on a game that largely bypassed the midfield.
Showed flashes of insightful passes -- in particular an early feed for Shea's first chance -- but wasn't consistent enough. Replaced early in the second half with the USA chasing a goal.
All action and energy, the captain of the day provided the corner for Clark's winner. However, his distribution was rushed and sloppy, undermining an influential display.
A few curling crosses and excellent set-piece delivery didn't compensate for an inability to find the match from the wing.
The two best chances of the first half came from Shea -- once when he should have finished a Feilhaber feed better and the second a solid header. Not sharp enough one-on-one with options in the box.
Heavy touches defused promising attacking moves and poor finishing should have seen the Kansas City striker's miserable night ended earlier.
Added spunk to left back in a few cameo minutes.
Came off the bench to score a 97th-minute winner.
The young striker made his international debut.
Appeared in front of his hometown for a few nominal minutes.
Sharp movement and linkup, the San Jose striker was the biggest threat for the U.S. off the bench.
Pulled off a series of quality saves to bail out his defense, including a strong one to block Shea's header. Hardly at fault for the winner.
Largely kept Shea from getting behind him but dropped too deep.
Patrolled the central area well, forcing Bunbury into wide areas.
Sent off in the fallout of the goal after flipping out at the referee.
Provided early thrust up the left before being forced back for much of the match.
Sat in front of the defense but didn't do well enough at distributing the ball calmly.
Sprinted up and down the field in a back-and-forth match but failed to come to grips with possession.
Couldn't get around his man down the wing.
Like his midfield partner, Flores had a few long-distance shots without carving his presence into the buildup.
Provided Venezuela's best chance with an ambitious shot from just inside the USA's half that sailed inches above the bar.
Toiled aimlessly up front alone without making an impact.
