Player Ratings: LA Galaxy 1-0 Houston Dynamo

As expected, the Galaxy played slightly better than Houston to win the MLS Cup.

Had little to do in the first half and was solid when he was called into action.

Todd Dunivant

Danny Cruz gave him some trouble down the flank, but for the most part was solid and shut things down.

Omar Gonzalez

3.5

Another strong performance by the young defender. Big in the air and moved well. Was up to most tests that Houston brought against him. Showed why he was the league's best defender.

Sean Franklin

Tormented the Dynamo backline the entire match with his forward runs and vision. Moved very well with Landon Donovan.

A.J. DeLaGarza

Was a great compliment to his central defender partner and allowed the Dynamo forward to do very little.

David Beckham

3.5

Typically brilliant service and his work ethic was second to none. Appeared to get frustrated as the match went on but still played really well.

Juninho

3.0

Shut down Moffat in the midfield and was pretty solid with the rest of his play. Didn't have too many touches on the ball but when he did, most were affective.

Mike Magee

3.0

Showed plenty of energy going down the flanks and was able to work a number of nice one-twos with his forwards. Had a few chances that should have been finished but the end product wasn't good enough.

Robbie Keane

3.0

Not his best game in a Galaxy uniform. Sloppy with his touches and didn't finish when he did have the opportunity to do so. Was eager, just not clinical.

Landon Donovan

A strong showing for the captain, Donovan worked hard and distributed the ball around the pitch nicely. Really wanted this one. Unbelievable finish on his goal.

Adam Cristman

1.5

A number of blatant misses in the six-yard box, Cristman worked hard but didn't have the quality befitting of an MLS Cup Final. Rightfully withdrawn early in the second period.

Came on for Cristman and brought an extra spark to the side. Didn't do much else.

Tally Hall

3.0

Didn't have to make any saves of note in the first half and was quiet for most second period. Donovan gave him no chance to on his goal. Made a nice late save on a Beckham free kick.

Bobby Boswell

Played really well in the middle for the Dynamo and was able to cork up Robbie Keane for most of the match. Gutsy outing by the defender.

Andre Hainault

2.5

Played Magee and Keane rather well down his flank and was a strong presence in the air. Nearly decapitated Magee late in the match and saw yellow.

Jermaine Taylor

Really struggled against Franklin and Donovan for most of the match. Was very evident how badly the Dynamo missed Brad Davis.

Geoff Cameron

3.0

A really cultured performance by the defender. Didn't give too much away and made a number of key tackles. Lost Cristman a few times in the first, but his marking wasn't punished.

Adam Moffat

3.0

His service wasn't quite as good as Davis' and didn't have a great game in the midfield. Didn't make too many mistakes either.

Luiz Camargo

Made a few nice runs through the middle but was largely invisible.

Danny Cruz

Caused little trouble down the wing and was later removed. Disappointing performance for the most part.

Corey Ashe

3.0

Sliding up to the left midfield spot usually held by Davis, Ashe played well but had to do double duties with Taylor's unfortunate showing.

Brian Ching

3.0

A strong showing by the forward. Worked hard and held up the play on a few occasions, whenever the Dynamo managed to get the ball in the opposing half. Didn't really have a chance on goal the entire match.

Calen Carr

3.0

Played quick and was probably the most dangerous Dynamo player. Despite this, couldn't create much and like Ching didn't have a real chance on net worth noting.

Was thrown on and thrown forward in the latter stages of the match but wasn't able to do too much.

On too late to really have an impact...

Carlo Costly

Came on to add spark to the attack and had a few nice views at goal. Drew a yellow card out of David Beckham.
