Houston Dynamo 1-1 Chicago Fire: Playoff chasers trade first-half goals
Colin Clark and Dominic Oduro scored within the space of 10 minutes in a battle between two teams both yearning for points in the playoff race

The Houston Dynamo could not overcome a determined Chicago Fire side, as the two teams were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw on a hot day in Texas.
Colin Clark opened the scoring for Houston, but Dominic Oduro struck for his 12th goal of the season to give Chicago a share of the points.
Coming off a morale-boosting win against rival FC Dallas, Houston enjoyed the better of the early proceedings, testing Sean Johnson in the Chicago goal though failing to put anything past him.
Houston finally got off in the mark in the 33rd minute off a set play. Brad Davis lifted a corner into the area, only for it to deflect off a Chicago player in the ensuing scramble. Before any Chicago player could reach the ball, Clark managed to turn it home for his fourth goal of the season.
Chicago would strike back 10 minutes later though, through Dominic Oduro. A well-worked passing move sliced through the Dynamo midfield, and Baggio Husidic played a well-weighted through pass to Oduro. The speedy Ghanian blew past Bobby Boswell and flicked the ball past Tally Hall for his 12th tally of the season, and first against his old club.
Neither side looked particularly like scoring in the second half, with Johnson and Hall combining for just two saves in the final 45 minutes. Though Houston had some good looks at goal late in the game, the team's finishing was sub par and leaving it 1-1 at the final whistle.
The draw did more good for Houston than Chicago – the Dynamo inched closer to the top of the Eastern Conference and still have control of their own fate. Chicago, meanwhile, lies three points out of a playoff berth with four games to play.
