FC Dallas drew 1-1 with Panamanian side Tauro FC in Pizza Hut Park in CONCACAF Champions League play Wednesday night.
The win leaves FCD atop Group C with seven points.
"I told the boys I was very proud of the way they competed," Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman said. "I felt that we kept our emotional intelligence to a good point, and I just thought the game was very disruptive."
The Hoops opened the scoring 23 seconds in, a record for both FC Dallas and the CONCACAF Champions League. Daniel Cruz spun around in the box to get the angle right for his volley after Andrew Jacobson and Jackson created the opportunity.
Tauro equalized from the penalty spot. Ugo Ihemelu dove in and Luis Moreno notched to earn his side a point.
"They put pressure up top, and they forced us into playing longer balls than we really wanted to," goalkeeper Kevin Hartman said. "They are fairly athletic in the center of the back and were able to win some balls and get at us a bit. Certainly tonight, you have to give a lot of respect to the Panamanian side. They were very, very good."
