Player Ratings: Uruguay 4-0 Chile

Stayed big to save from Fernandez and another good save from Marcelo Diaz. Did what he had to relatively comfortably and can be pleased with his overall performance.

Once again the rock at the back for Uruguay. He attacked a header with great conviction in the first half but it was straight at Bravo. Either side and he would have scored.

Made some mistakes early on but was fairly comfortable up against Suazo and Vargas. He did really well to get back and clear off the line in the final minutes to keep the clean sheet.

Not deployed down the left as often as usual and rarely got forward in the first half. Once the win was secured he relaxed and ventured forward more frequently but failed to contribute much.

Produced a good ball up to Suarez to change the tempo of the game in the first half and initiated the move for Suarez’s third. His pinpoint ball was crucial to the goal

Wasted a free kick shortly before half time sending it high behind the goal. He failed to show his quality and made way after for Sebastian Abreu after an hour.

A solid performance from the midfield terrier as always. He had a great few minutes before the third goal and was involved in the build up for it supplying the pass for Caceres to assist Suarez hat trick goal.

Began to boss the midfield midway though the first half and never looked back. The combination of him and Perez is vital to Uruguay's recent success. He initiated the counter attack that led to Suarez's first goal of the night.

Great nutmeg on Campos in the second half was a rare attacking moment for the wide midfielder. He was fairly ineffectual and coasted through the game.

What more can you say? Four goals, one with either foot and a couple of headers to boot. A virtuoso performance that will live long in the memory for all Uruguayans.

Looked sharp with great control and hungry for the ball early on but failed to take a number of opportunities as it proved not to be his night.

After a number of quality saves to keep the potent Uruguayans out of the net he eventually succumbed to their relentless attack. Was at fault for the second as he failed to claim the ball leaving the goal wide open.

Was given a torrid time by Suarez in what turned into a nightmare performance. He was regularly beaten and left trailing behind the striker as well as frequently misplacing the ball.

One of few Chilean players to rarely be sloppy in possession. He was hardly seen going forward and was not involved heavily in the game.

Headed wide with a free header when he should really have tested Muslera in the first half. He also suffered at the hands of Suarez and did well to get back to clear the ball but was unlucky they still got the second goal.

Made no impact on the game as a second half substitute.

Part of the defence that leaked four goals, he has no reason to be pleased be with his performance. He showed great determination to keep it at four with a last ditch challenge in the final minutes.

Composed on the ball and kept the play moving across the pitch nicely. Added to some strong challenges to halt the Uruguayan momentum he had a solid game.

Without a doubt the best player on the pitch for Chile. His coruscating runs opened a number of chances as he was the linchpin in attack. He sissed opportunity in first half when he possibly could have rounded Muslera.

Unlucky to have his goal ruled out but it was the correct decision. He was nutmegged by Alvaro Gonzalez in the second half which was slightly embarrassing but not a poor performance.

Supplied an inch-perfect ball for Fernandez in the first half but was caught offside early in the second half when he would have been clear through on goal. Failed to show the firepower that made him top scorer in 2010's qualification

A fairly ineffectual performance in the first half and was nowhere to be seen. He showed glimpses of his talent with some surging runs in the second half but was disappointing on the whole.
