Referee: S. Peruzzo
Attendance: 13300
Player Ratings: Lecce 3-4 AC Milan
Goal.com analyzes the performances of the players on show during the Rossoneri's stunning comeback at Via del Mare in Sunday's early kickoff.
By Jonathan Mitchell
The Lecce goalkeeper made two strong saves to deny Nocerino and Boateng either side of halftime and could do little with three of Milan's four goals, but should have done better with Boateng's third.
The Algerian left back was strong in the first half - making a fantastic tackle to deny Ibrahimovic in the 15th minute - but struggled to cope with Milan in the second 45.
Like Mesbah, he had an excellent first half, demonstrated by a stunning slide tackle to thwart Robinho in the 45th minute, but was unable to match Milan after the break. Was nowhere to be seen when Yepes headed in the winner.
Yet another Lecce defender who was excellent first half but poor in the second. Made three excellent headed clearances in the early stages, but was a different player after interval.
The Milan loanee punished his parent club by netting with a fantastic penalty, but he was suspect in the second half as a lot of Milan's better play came down his side.
Another player on loan from the Rossoneri who impressed with his first half display. He offered his defense little protection in the second half, demonstrated by his failure to close Boateng down at his second goal.
Was a bundle of energy on the right of the Lecce midfield three, but was something of a weak link in the second half. Struggled to retain possession or help contain Cassano as he drifted to his side.
A player who didn't deserve to be on the losing side. Scored the opening goal with an opportunistic header and bullied Antonini into his mistake for the third goal.
Like Giacomazzi, he ought to have emerged from this match victorious after an outing in which he provided the assist for the opening goal with a dangerous free kick and scored the third with a well-taken goal. Dominant figure in the first half and left the field in the 59th minute with his side still in the lead.
The Colombian was yet another Lecce player who was superb in the first half but poor in the second. His direct style tormented Milan early on, winning the free kick from which they opened the scoring, but faded badly in the second half.
Was a strong presence as his side's attacking spearhead in the first half. Also won the penalty from which his side made it 2-0 when Abbiati fouled him inside the box.
Came on for Grossmuller in 59th minute and immediately went close with a low drive, but offered little else afterwards.
Replaced Corvia in the 73rd minute as Lecce tried to hold out for a draw.
A late change in place of Cuadrado, had little opportunity to make an impact.
Looked more than a little suspect at the first goal, although he was left exposed by Yepes, and gave away the penalty from which Lecce scored their second by dropping the ball then fouling Corvia.
The left back was a disaster in the first half, particularly at Lecce's third goal as he was bullied into a poor back-pass by Giacomazzi, which Grossmuller scored from.
A game of mixed fortunes for the Colombian veteran. Lost Giacomazzi at first goal and was extremely poor in the first half - but did pop up with the crucial winner.
Although part of a Milan defense which struggled badly in the first half, he was particularly at fault on an individual level.
The fullback added a valuable attacking threat in the second half, and it was his low strike which was blocked before Boateng followed up to level the scores.
The only one of Milan's midfield to earn pass marks in the first half. Went close with a header and forced a great save from Benassi with a dipping volley. Helped his team drive forward in second half.
Improved markedly after the break, pushing his team forward from central midfield, However, he was non-existent in the first half, especially in the build up to Lecce's third goal.
The captain was hooked at the interval after a woeful first-half showing in which his distribution and ability to influence the game were extremely questionable.
The Brazilian attacker was woefully inept operating behind Ibrahimovic and Cassano, and was another who was whipped off at half-time - a change which turned the game.
The Bari native was booed remorselessly by fans of Puglia rivals Lecce, and despite a quiet first half, he came to the fore in the second. Providing two assists - the second of which created the winner - while generally tormenting Lecce.
Swede was off the boil today, and despite his team mounting a stirring second-half comeback, he didn't play an especially influential part in helping them achieve that.
The man of the match by a mile. Almost single-handedly inspired his side to a stunning victory with a 14-minute hat-trick after coming on at halftime.
Also played his part in the comeback, providing quality on the ball, while, more directly, cutting-back for Boateng to score his first and spark the comeback.
Made a last minute cameo in place of Cassano.
