A late strike from Andrea Caracciolo earned Genoa a 2-2 draw in Turin – Juventus looked to have won the game through a brace from Alessandro Matri but the substitute's late strike earned the away side the point.

The league leaders started well with Mirko Vucinic linking up well with strike partner Alessandro Matri, but the latter’s looping header was held easily by Sebastien Frey.

Moments later and the home side was ahead through a neat finish from Matri; a long range effort from Claudio Marchisio, was met by the Italian striker whose instinctive flick sailed past Frey to put The Old Lady in front.

Juve wsd looking comfortable and controlling the game with Matri looking dangerous and in the 25th minute the striker could have got his second. A great ball from Andrea Pirlo found the striker on the edge of the box and the former Cagliari man created some space for himself before forcing a smart save from Frey.

On the half hour mark the visitors equalized through Marco Rossi as a great cross from Alexander Merkel  on the left flank was met by a the captain with a powerful header to put the Rossoblu back into the game.

Just before the break, Antonio Conte’s side should have re-taken the lead after an awful pass from Miguel Veloso left Vucinic with a great chance but the former Roma striker was denied by a great save from Sebastien Frey.

The second half began as real end to end contest with Matri being denied by an excellent save from Frey before an exquisite flick from Merkel almost put the visitors ahead.

Just before the hour mark, the home side regained the lead with the impressive Matri striking again. A great ball from former Milan midfielder Pirlo left the forward with a simple finish to put the homeside back in the driving seat.

Juventus looked the more likely to score again with both Vucinic and Matri spurning chances for the homeside, but with five minutes to go the visitors equalised again through substitute Caracciolo. The striker slotted past Storari from a tight angle after an excellent knockdown from fellow substitute Juraj Kucka.

Juventus will be disappointed to have dropped the points today and will be looking to get back to winning ways at home to Fiorentina on Tuesday, while Genoa will be hoping to build on this impressive performance against Roma on Wednesday evening.
