Chievo 0-0 Juventus: Antonio Conte's side fails to break down stubborn hosts
Juventus managed to maintain their unbeaten run but things could have been different if not for a questionable decision from ref Andrea De Marco
By Adam Wheeler
Juventus started the match brightly and looked the more dangerous of the two sides, and in the third minute the in-form Claudio Marchisio tried to find Mirko Vucinic in the box only for Stefano Sorrentino to claim the ball and clear the danger.
On the 20 minute mark Cyril Thereau found the net for the hosts, but unfortunately for the Frenchmen, his effort was ruled out controversially for a questionable foul on Andrea Pirlo, leading up to his strike, to make matters worse the striker was also booked for putting the ball away after the whistle had gone.
The game opened up in the second half and on the 50th minute Marchisio almost put the visitors ahead with a powerful drive on the edge of box before substitute Emanuele Giaccherini went close to grabbing his first goal for the Bianconeri with another thunderbolt.
The visitors were now starting to control the game and with 20 minutes to ago Alessandro Del Pierro, who had just replaced Marchisio, struck the woodwork with a powerful header after a great cross from Simone Pepe.
Juventus kept its place at the top of the table with Udinese also failing to win this week but will be looking to get back to winning ways at home to Genoa. Chievo will be happy to take the point against the Serie A leaders and will hope to continue its impressive start to the season next week away to Inter.
