12′ Luis Suárez

The players look jubilant. A year on from heartbreakingly crashing out of the World Cup against the Netherlands, Oscar Tabarez's men have secured the 2011 Copa America - their record-breaking 15th title. What a joy to watch!

90′ +1
WELL THERE WE HAVE I! FULL TIME AND URUGUAY ARE COPA AMERICA WINNERS!!! What a goal to end the final, and the celebrations in Buenos Aires and Montevideo can begin! A roar from the stands as Uruguay are now the most successful team South American history!

90′ +1
Uruguay lead 3-0 to be seconds away to lift the Copa America. Into injury time now. Forlan's two goal salvo means he now is Uruguay's joint top scorer in history!

90′
Assist Luis Suárez

90′
Goal Diego Forlán

90′
FORLAN!!! WHAT A GOAL!!!! Quite a fantastic goal from Diego Forlan. An exquisite counter attacking goal sees Suarez lay on Forlan with the entire Paraguayan team bar one defender caught upfield. Forlan, Cavani and Suarez all combjne to seal the win and seal THE COPA AMERICA!!

89′
Substitution Martín Cáceres Diego Godín

88′
Diego Godin comes on to replace Martin Caceres in Uruguay's final substitution. Meanwhile, the corner for Paraguay is hastily cleared.

87′
It is all turning into a procession for Uruguay with the passing becoming slower and allowing the Paraguayans to attack them. The Celeste fans are in full voice in the stands. Minutes away from the end here.

86′
Sebastian Coates is in the book for handball.

85′
Yellow Card Sebastián Coates

83′
Lucas Barrios is already holding his hamstring despite being on for the last few minutes as he chases the ball. It is probably the reason why the striker failed to start this game.

81′
Paraguay looking again unlikely to find at least a consolation goal, let alone trying to equalize. The passes aren't finding their intended targets, with the Uruguayan rearguard proving troublesome to breach.

80′
Cavani tries to rid of his marker, but once he enters the penalty box, the Napoli man goes to ground with his compatriots putting their arms in the air! Unliekly to be given that one.

78′
Marecos, who's been quiet and slightly disappointing so far in this match finds a shof from 20 yards which flies over the bar. Meanwhile, Kassim Reduwan on Twitter states that Luis Suarez's form could see him win various awards in the future, including best player in the world! Optimistic, but thanks for your message.

77′
Substitution P. Zeballos L. Barrios

77′
Paraguay make a final change with Pablo Zeballos coming off for Lucas Barrios for the last 15 minutes. The latter has been ineffectual in the Copa, yet makes his Final appearance, can we see more from Barrios?

76′
Maxi Pereira tries to get onto tbe byline but a crunching tackle limits his progression. The resulting corner is headed away and finally into the arms of Villar. All Uruguay with 15 minutes left to ago.

74′
VITAL STOP FROM VILLAR! The pass from the right is clever as it unleashes Suarez on the right, the shot in the box is expertly saved by Villar as Suarez's persistence is finally stopped as the ball goes out of play.

72′
A lovely ball is thread to Valdez yet the striker's well-timed run is not enough to keep it in play. The Paraguayans are claiming time wasting from Muslera, yet it was they who instigated that tactic when it was 0-0!

70′
Substitution Diego Pérez S. Eguren

70′
Zeballos is penalised for a dive and perhaps a handball bu the referee. The ball was played into him neatly and after a little push by Coates, the referee ordered a freekick. Zeballos also handled the ball demanding a penalty. Could've been.

67′
Uruguay are now camped back in their own half as they struggle to contain the attacking force of the Guarani. Sebastian Coates is next to throw his body in blocking the shot.

66′
Enrique Vera also comes off for Hernan Perez as the Guarani look to change their ways midway through the second half.

65′
Substitution Enrique Daniel Vera Hernán Pérez

65′
Substitution Víctor Cáceres Marcelo Estigarribia

64′
Substitution Á. Pereira Edinson Cavani

62′
CLOSE FROM PARAGUAY! What a chance that has just gone begging. Cristian Riveros is allowed to run free on the flank and his low ball finds Valdez but the soft touch cannot divert it past Muslera. Gerardo Martino looks on worryingly.

60′
Again the long ball finds no-one up the field. Uruguay surge up the field with Suarez going in on Dario Veron and wins the ball before finding himself in space and shooting into the net. Huge sigh of relief from Veron who thought he'd given Uruguay a 3-0 lead. Sloppy again from Paraguay.

59′
The passing of the Paraguayans proves to be their undoing, with La Celeste quickly snuffing out their chances. The Uruguay fans in the stands at El Monumental break into song.

58′
Yellow Card Enrique Daniel Vera

57′
Enrique Vera finds himself into the book with a rather rash tackle on Diego Perez. The Bologna midfielder is clutching his face.

55′
Replays from the Valdez strike seconds ago show that Nestor Muslera actually got a finger to that shot. Brilliant save from the new Galatasaray custodian who has had precious little to do this evening.

54′
VALDEZ HITS THE WOODWORK!! How unlucky from the Paraguayans who strike the bar after a brilliant ball into the feet of the Hercules man. Could've been 2-1. The Guarani need more moments like these if they are to unsettle La Celeste.

52′
Suarez wins the ball back enthusiastically from a sloppy Guarani defense, The Liverpool striker puts in the low cross with Forlan lurking menacingly, yet a last-ditch tackle prevents the latter from getting the touch on it.

51′
Brilliant movement from Piris who evades the challenge of a few Uruguayans. The ball finds its way to Zeballos who goes to ground easily with Lugano looking far from happy at the opposite player.

50′
Freekick poorly worked with Zeballos opting to pass it out to a teammate. The long ball drift into the box is held back by the assistant referee who brandishes the flag for offside.

49′
Perez, incidentally playing in his 20th Copa America tie jumps back up to his feet, Paraguay freekick, meanwhile.

48′
Diego Perez suffers an awkward fall with the Bologna man holding his right shoulder.

Paraguay get us underway in the second half. Uruguay are 45 minutes away from usurping Argentina and claim a record-breaking 15th Copa America title.

45′ +1
Suarex goes just wide with a header, last meaningful action of the half, and it's 2-0 to Uruguay with 45 minutes to go.

45′
First half has been all Uruguay. Not shocking really, given Paraguay's record in the competition, but the team looking for its 15th title will feel confident taking this type of lead into the break.

42′
Assist E. Arévalo

42′
Goal Diego Forlán

42′
GOAL!!!! It's 2-0 Uruguay. Forlan with the left-footed blast and Paraguay now has a mountain to climb. Can't leave that guy with a hit from there or he'll punish it every time. Uruguay's stars have come to play, and the Copa is within reach.

31′
Alvaro Gonzalez goes down in the penalty box after a challenge from Paulo Da Silva. The striker might've gone to ground too easily for my liking, looking for a penalty shout.

30′
Yellow Card Maxi Pereira

30′
Maxi Pereira is now into the book, making it four yellow cards in this match. Bound to be a red-card in this final?

28′
Ivan Piris finds Vera on the right hand side, yet he fails to manouevre out of the tight spot after being cornered by defenders. The ball is again played to Vera who can't control it.

27′
A frenetic opening to the match has all but died down in the last few minutes, the brilliant early flow to the game has been punctuated by frequent tackles from either sides. Three yellow cards already brandished from referee Fagundes.

26′
Zeballos with the freekick and the Guarani fail to trouble the rearguard, with the ball swiftly cleared.

25′
Yellow Card Martín Cáceres

25′
Martin Caceres is also booked after a rash tackle on Enrique Vera. Too eager to commit himself into the tackle and was rightly punished. Getting very competitive as the match wears on.

24′
Yellow Card Diego Pérez

24′
Diego Perez is next into the book after a flying tackle on Riveros. A yellow card for the man who scored and was sent off in the quarter-final against Argentina.

22′
FIFA President Sepp Blatter is caught dozing off from the match itself. It's much more of a spectacle than he makes out, that's for sure.

20′
Martin Caceres is pulled down on the left hand side, and he complains to the referee, despite not receiving a free kick. All getting a bit physical in El Monumental.

17′
Yellow Card Víctor Cáceres

17′
Luis Suarez is causing all sorts of problems for the Paraguayans. Uruguay clear the ball from danger, and as Suarez shows superb upper-body strengh to wrest the ball away from Caceres, the Paraguayan pulls him down and earns the first yellow card of this final.

15′
VALDEZ! Close from the Hercules attacker. A lofted ball from the midfield bamboozles the static Celeste defence, and Valdez loses his footing when pulling the trigger, meaning the ball flies harmlessly over the bar. Signal of intent from the Guarani.

12′
Goal Luis Suárez

12′
GOAAAAAAALLL!!! URUGUAY TAKES THE LEAD!!! SUAREZ NETS THE OPENER!! The Liverpool hitman grabs his fourth of the tournament and becomes top-scorer for now as a long deflection finds its way to the feet of Suarez, and he finishes with aplomb, deceiving Villar and getting it in off the post! ADVANTAGE URUGUAY!

10′
A corner from Pablo Zeballos is cleared by the defense. Uruguay then seeks out to hit on the counter attack, but it quickly filters out.

7′
Another corner from the Uruguayans, and this time Lugano goes to ground as the referee gives a freekick to Paraguay. Zeballos goes forward as Paraguay search an early attack on Muslera's goal.

6′
Suarez is off again, troubling the defender, cutting in from the left but the ball eventually finds its way to the goalkeeper. Energetic start from La Celeste.

5′
Replays of the first corner of the match definitely show a hand from Nestor Ortigoza after a fantastic save from Justo Villar. Ortigoza probably knew little of it, but strong shout of a penalty there.

4′
Uruguay have definitely hit the ground running, a testing Forlan corner is headed wide, yet they've set up early camp around the Paraguayan penalty box!

3′
What on earth happened there? Diego Lugano gets in a header from the corner and it appears to have hit a hand. The Uruguayans are protesting furiously for a penalty, yet the referee is having none of it. Dramatic start to the final!

2′
Early signs of promise from Luis Suarez. He picks up the ball in the penalty box and after a ricochet from Paulo Da Silva sees the ball hit the side netting. Justo Villar was hurt a bit there.

Getting set for the Copa America final between Uruguay and Paraguay. 43rd edition of the competition has tossed out some surprises along the way with Brazil and Argentina both being bounced early, but this final should be a very good one with one of the three favorites coming into the tournament still involved.
