The Italian under-21 international worked well with Chivu and Ranocchia, and was tasked with looking after Balotelli for much of the game and he managed competently for the majority, although the City striker probably came out on top in the challenge.

The experienced center back had a comfortable game marking Dzeko but was given something to think about when Silva ran at him with the ball. Despite this being a friendly game the Romanian managed to dish out some of his trademark crunching tackles, with Milner on the end of a particularly strong challenge.

The much talked about Dutchman had a good game which will no doubt increase the speculation about his future. He looked dangerous in and around the penalty area but he didn’t really test Hart in the City goal. He was replaced by Santon in the second half.

    Dejan Stankovic

Inter’s captain battled hard against De Jong and Milner in the center of midfield and showed off his passing abilities with some fantastic cross field passes to change the angle of the attacks. He had three efforts in the second half to get his side back in the game but his radar was slightly off and none were able to beat Hart. He was replaced by Mariga in the second half as Inter looked to give some of their squad players a chance.

He took some chances with when in possession and was lucky not to get caught by Eto’o but his manager was less forgiving and ensured his goalkeeper knew exactly what he thought. He was called into action more in the second half and made an excellent save from a Inter set piece to keep his side’s two goal cushion.
