Goal.com rates the players on show in the heated draw at El Sardinero, one that saw Los Che take a 2-1 lead before the hosts earned a late point
By Roger Gonzalez
The goalkeeper did a wonderful job to keep out Jonas' effort with a quick reaction in the first half. Could do little on Aduriz's goals, but did a great job to stop the initial effort on the second.
The worst performer out of the Racing defense. Was beaten by Feghouli from time to time, and just wasn't effective enough.
After Stuani's header off the post, the defender was sent through on goal and was denied by Alves. In defense, he did a solid job slowing down Piatti, while dominating him in the air.
Contained the attack of Los Che with his positioning and timing, knowing where to be and when to challenge. Top defender of the match who was also the hero with his late header to tie it up.
Did not stand out but was more than efficient, clearing balls wide and forward. Worked well with his fellow defenders to pressure the visitors.
Didn't make a big impact but didn't allow much of anything from the Valencia midfield, and was the most physical player in his side.
The 27-year-old provided some nice passes, but he was never a threat to Diego Alves, rarely trying his luck. Quiet night for the midfielder.
Was lucky to be on the end of Munitis' effort two minutes in and did well to slide his shot past Alves. Took his one chance to help his team into the lead but was rarely seen from that point forward.
Will surely take all the credit for his assist, one that somehow found it's way through the Valencia defense. Lost his head late and was awarded a red card after a scuffle with Costa
The Uruguayan raced all over the field, making great runs forward but was poor in his passing. Had a header hit off the post in the first half, and failed to convert the rebound. Really should have scored in this one.
A non-factor for the most part, the young Argentine failed to show his creativity apart from easy forward passes into space.
Came on to help out in defense but missed a good portion of the match after receiving a nasty gash following a collision with Aduriz.
A fantastic sub. Earned an assist on the late equalizer and just made Valencia's defense look distinctly average. A young talent, he certainly earned himself some more appearances with this effort.
His late volley was saved by Alves, but it will take him a long time to forget about that chance. Did well to get into position for the effort, at least.
The former Almeria man could do little on the early goal, but there was no excuse for his effort on the second, where he rushed from his line and did not reach the ball. Cost his team two points but saved them from defeat with his incredible stop on Colsa in the closing stages.
The Spaniard has impressed as of late for Valencia, and he had a lot of running to do as Racing were always on the counterattack. He reacted well to cut off a few chances and positioned himself well.
Quick with the ball, the French defender was not asked to do much in defense and did get up the field well from time to time, crossing in efforts from the left. Would have liked to have been more involved, however.
The defender was caught out of place from time to time, also sending in numerous crosses that reached nowhere near the planned destination. Uninspiring.
He cost his team with a poor reaction on the early goal, but made up for it with a stunning shot that resulted in Aduriz's goal late. Was sent off late after getting involved with Munitis.
A bit more consistent than in previous games, the young attacker was a menace on the right, using his speed to get behind the defense and send in crosses. Set up Jonas with a quality pass in the first half that should have been finished.
Looked to carry the ball forward in the early going, but was taken off in the first half due to injury.
He sprayed a few passes forward and made a tackle or two but was nowhere near being a threat on goal. Did however set up Aduriz with the cross from the corner on the first strike, earning an assist.
The former Gremio star had one chance in the first half and wasted it as the ball hit the crossbar after a fine save by the Racing goalkeeper. Was taken off in the second half.
Irrelevant. The team's leading scorer was no threat for the duration of the game, missing a header in the second half in his only real action.
After starring with two goals and an assist midweek, the young Argentine did not have the same impact on Sunday, and came off for Bernat in the second half.
Came on late in the second half for Piatti but never really got involved.
Replaced Banega after an early injury and failed to finish the match after being hit by Diop. Was ineffective to say the least.
Brought on to score the equalizer, but did that and more. Pounded the ball home from a corner on his second touch to level the score, finishing his second just over 10 minutes from time with a header. Impact sub, one that looked to have earned his team all three points until late.
