Feyenoord 4-2 Ajax: Hat-trick hero Guidetti shoots hosts to victory in six-goal thriller
The Amsterdam side were unable to hold on to their early lead as the Swedish youngster netted his second hat-trick of the season to help the home side to the full three points

A stunning display from John Guidetti helped Feyenoord record a 4-2 home win over arch rival Ajax in Sunday afternoon's Eredivisie encounter at De Kuip.
The Amsterdam side opened the scoring after a superb shot from Christian Eriksen, but John Guidetti restored parity after a questionable spot kick, before gifting the home side the lead with a tap-in. Otman Bakkal then made it three for the team shortly after the break, with Dmitry Bulykin netting with 15 more minutes to go. Guidetti got his hat trick shortly after to put the match to bed.
Ajax started the match the better side of the two, but the first chances were for Feyenoord. Guidetti tried his luck twice from outside the area, only to see shot stopper Kenneth Vermeer collect the ball with ease on both occasions.
The guests then got a good chance to break the deadlock after a good individual action from Vurnon Anita, but Feyenoord goalkeeper Erwin Mulder proved his worth with a fine save.
Ajax did go 1-0 up 18th minute after a quick counterattack following a Feyenoord corner. Christian Eriksen collected the ball just inside the home side's half and skipped past two opponents before curling in a left footed shot in the far corner. Lorenzo Ebecilio should have doubled the Godenzonen's lead shortly after, but he failed to beat Mulder in a one-on-one situation.
Feyenoord started pressing for the equalizer after that and was rewarded at the half-hour mark. Guidetti went to the ground after what seemed to be a legitimate challenge from Jan Vertonghen, but the referee decided different and awarded the home side a penalty. Guidetti stepped up to take it and found the top corner to restore parity.
The goal appeared to be a real confidence boost for the Stadionclub and Guidetti doubled his personal tally in the 41st minute. The Ajax defense failed to clear the ball after a header from Otman Bakkal, and the young Swede tapped home from close range to gift Feyenoord the lead.
Feyenoord continued to push forward after the interval and added a third goal in the 49th minute. Guyon Fernandez danced past two opponents in the center of the pitch before setting up Bakkal on the edge of the area. The PSV loanee controlled the ball superbly, and then fired home with a low volley.
Ajax didn't give up though and got a chance to peg one back via Theo Janssen around the hour mark, but the midfielder's shot was blocked by Ron Vlaar and eventually led to nothing.

Feyenoord sits joint-fourth in the Eredivisie table at the moment with 34 points from 19 games. The team's next match is the trip to NEC on Feb. 5.
