  Gladbach did not have a single shot on goal in the first half as the goalkeeper was nothing more than a spectator before the break. Did well to come off his line on a couple of occasions, but could have easily just sat in the stands and enjoyed the match.

  The left back was Dortmund's outstanding player in defense as he was impervious at the back and an absolute beast in attack. Assisted Perisic's goal with fine free-kick.

  The Polish striker started off well, troubling Gladbach with his clever movement and strength. Had a nice shot narrowly miss the target early on, but from there on he was largely invisible.

  The defender had a decent game, but also a few lapses in concentration. Nowhere to be seen for Dortmund's double chance in the 20th minute. Should take some blame for BVB's second and allowed a good opportunity for Lewandowski in the 61st minute.
