After resting key players for the midweek League Cup fixture with Shrewbury Town, Arsene Wenger will undoubtedly return to full strength for the visit of Bolton. Thomas Vermaelen and Jack Wilshere remain long term absentees, while Yossi Benayoun has picked up a strain that will leave him on the sidelines for a couple of weeks.

Bacary Sanga and Andre Santos will come in at fullback, with Alex Song and Mikel Arteta sitting deep in midfield, and Aaron Ramsey, Gervinho and Theo Walcott deployed behind Robin van Persie.

Much is the same for Bolton, which will restore its starting lineup to its maximum strength. Chris Eagles and Martin Petrov should play on either wing as Bolton looks to exploit Arsenal's defensive vulnerabilities, with Tuncay Sanli possibly filling in for the suspended Ivan Klasnic. Fabrice Muamba and Nigel Reo-Coker will also start again together in central midfield.

DID YOU KNOW?
  • Arsenal is in the midst of its worst start to a campaign for 58 years.
  • The last time the two met, Bolton claimed a 2-1 victory, with a Tamir Cohen 90th-minute winner at the Reebok driving a stake into Arsenal's dying hopes of winning the Premier League.
  • Arsenal has conceded the most goals this season, letting in 14, with Bolton just behind on 13.
  • Between the two of them, Bolton and Arsenal have amassed less than half the points Manchester United has this season after only five games.
  • So far this season, Arsenal has received 16 yellow cards and one straight red.
  • Bolton has scored only two first half goals this season.
