Cleverly and Hernandez just worked a lovely chance for United, Cleverly's finish wasn't what it needed to be, but a great exchange at the top of the box to set the table.

Arshavin got in behind there, another good chance for Arsenal but he pulled it wide of the goal. For all of United's dominance in the first half, there is still plenty of time for the Gunners to climb back in, and they're making chances.

It's not over yet. RVP just forced a good save out of de Gea, but Arsenal still showing how dangerous it can be.

Nani to Rooney, Rooney tries to pick out Hernandez on the back post, cut out well by Arsenal but a corner for United has to be dealt with as well.

Young takes a little knock, doesn't look too bad. And now it's Nani breaking down the right tries to chip the keeper from a tough angle rather than throwing it back across goal.

But wait!!!! Arsenal has pulled one back. Walcott gets in behind and suddenly it's 3-1. De Gea should have done better. Just as it looked like United would run away and hide, Walcott sends a shimmer of hope back in as the match goes to the half.

Gunners can't get anything to fall their way right now, and if they aren't careful, this could get well out of hand.

United not done yet. Rooney finds Smalling breaking down the right and he does well to work the space but the shot isn't good enough. Anybody but Smalling and it might have been 2-0.

Evra back the other way, ball comes square into the box and is cleared by the Arsenal defense, but not well enough. Back out to Evra who again crosses, clearance again isn't strong... It falls to Anderson who plays a sneaky little chip in for WELBECK!!!!! GOAL!!! It's 1-0 United.

Nani tries to break in behind but a really nice job from Traore to get back and kill off the danger. An immediately it's Walcott at the other end floating a cross to nobody.

Arsenal with a corner of its own, header goes up and over the bar, but the Gunners aren't backing down a bit from United. Cleverly has some blood running down his face, head to head collision it looks like.

Nani wins a corner with a little shimmy, a little shake, and then a cross that's blocked out of play. Arsenal breaks the other way after the corner is clear, RVP's cross floats through the box. Good match going on right now.

United still pushing forward. Smalling wasted it at the end, but the attacking emphasis is really showing through from both teams. Not much wasted time on the ball.

Game is pretty wide open at the moment. United arguably getting the better of it. Arsenal's defense looks stretched, but at the same time the Gunners have had a couple of odd breaks as well. Welbeck again there, trying to find Young in the box, but it's cut out.

Real chance there for United. Young plays Welbeck in, catching Arsenal trying to play a high line, but the youngster just pulled his shot wide of the mark.

Early goings still. A real feeling-out process taking place. Both teams have had momentary bits of possession, but no real advantage yet.

Big changes from what you would have thought the ideal lineups for these teams would be coming into the season. United's back line could be tested by Arsenal, but the truth as it stands right now is that Arsenal's three-man midfield will have its hands full. Lot of youth on the field both ways, but United's bench could probably content for a title, while Arsenal's looks thin at the moment.

Big match today in the EPL. Manchester United at home to Arsenal. Neither side comes in at full strength, but Sir Alex's men have certainly dealt with it better than the Gunners. Still, this will not be a given for United. Arsenal still have plenty of talent on the pitch and can certainly give problems to any team, and United's thrashing of Spurs doesn't look as impressive after what Manchester City did to Tottenham earlier today, a 5-1 win for those of you who missed it. Arsenal is coming off a big Champions League win as well, which should lead to the squad having a bit of confidence.
