The final whistle has blown at Empire Field and the first leg of the Nutrilite Final ends 1-1! Toronto will be both thrilled and relieved with the result while Vancouver will feel that they should have won this game by two or three. Referee mistakes or not, the Whitecaps had all the chances they needed to get the win. Toronto have a slight advantage going into the second leg next week! It should be a dandy.
A hopeful ball into the Toronto area and Frei comes to claim it, but Rochat gets there first and heads the ball ... just wide! What a chance!

A good chance for Toronto following a corner as Plata's shot from the far post is stopped by Nolly. Toronto is fighting back.

Toronto FC's Cordon gets into a great position but his shot is too soft and central.

Chiumiento puts the ball over from a bad angle following excellent combination play. Vancouver still have nothing to show for their efforts.
Exceptional play from Camilo on the right hand side who cuts inside and takes a thunderous shot that hits the crossbar. Toronto really needs to settle things down.

Brilliant play from Hassli whose shot hits the post! Vancouver is turning up the heat and you can feel their frustration for the miss call on Camilo.

The second half is underway and Toronto FC has already made two changes. There's going to be a lot of talk about the turf!
There's the whistle for half time. Its all square here at Empire Field in what has been a very evenly matched contest so far. Both teams will feel that they can win this one.
An excellent counterattack move from Toronto FC. Soolsma gallops forward, gets the shot off and Nolly puts the ball out for a corner.
Goalkeeper Frei tries to shield the ball out of play but Hasli takes it from him and luckily for Frei, the referee signals a foul.
Tony Tchani may have to come off as well for Toronto FC; he doesn't look to comfortable.

Jacob Peterson's has come off early due to injury; that's a big blow for Toronto FC.
Davide Chiumiento finds Camilo, who cuts in front and takes a good low shot but Frei makes an excellent save. Its the best chance of the game so far.
The back lines have been the story so far as both teams are having a hard time creating significant chances.
Most of Toronto's attacks are coming on the right hand side but there aren't enough men in the box to make something happen.
Both teams are doing really well in the build up play but are lacking cutting edge in the final third.

Its an open, high paced game here in Vancouver as Toronto FC looks to have no intention of playing a cautious road game.

Toronto pressing high as both teams try to set the tempo and dictate the game early.

While the Vancouver Whitecaps have only won one game so far this season, they will certainly be confident in getting a positive result tonight as their only win did come against Toronto FC on opening day. The Reds, who beat out FC Edmonton 4-0 on aggregate in the Semi Finals, has yet to win a game on the road this season in MLS.
What's at stake? The Canadian Championship, bragging rights, and a place in the CONCACAF Champions League.
