Seattle Sounders 2-1 New England Revolution: Sounders edge Revs
The Seattle Sounders earned a 2-1 win over the New England Revolution on Sunday.

Despite a flying start for the New England Revolution, the Seattle Sounders came from a goal down to earn a 2-1 win in Seattle on Sunday afternoon. Sainey Nyassi opened the scoring for New England just three minutes in, but goals from Tyson Wahl and Alvaro Fernandez before the break were enough to see the home side walk away with all three points.
Nyassi's goal came as a result of an early New England corner which Benny Feilhaber played to the winger with a driven ball. Nyassi pounded a right footed effort into the lower corner, giving Steve Nicol's side the type of start the manager hasn't seen enough of this season.
The Revs held firm for the next half hour, and even continued to press the pace a bit, but it was Wahl and the Sounders who would find the next goal in a very nice fashion.
After Mauro Rosales won a free kick in a dangerous spot, Wahl currled a wonderful effort into the net to level the score, leaving New England 'keeper Matt Reis with little chance of making the save.
Then, with halftime drawing near, the home crowd would have another goal to celebrate. Rosales was once again involved in the goal, sliding a ball in to Roger Levesque, who inturn did well to lay it off for Fernandez. The Designated Player made no mistake with the finish, and New England's bright start was a distant memory.
For New England, the second half of the match will likely feel like one large missed opportunity. Pat Phelan, Rajko Lekic and Zack Schilawski all had near misses, with Schilawski rattling Kasey Keller's crossbar, but the equalizer was not to come and Seattle walked out with all three points in the bag.
