Fabian Castillio was the hero for FC Dallas on Saturday night, setting up Brek Shea for the club's first goal and adding one of his own in a 2-0 win over the Philadelphia Union.

The win extends Dallas' unbeaten run to five games and keeps Philadelphia from taking the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

First Half

After the opening run of play saw both sides waste chances Dallas finally found the mark in the 29th minute through midfielder Shea. The lanky winger got on the end of a cross from Castillio, who had brushed past a Union defender along the way, to give the home side a deserved lead with a simple tap into the goal.

Philadelphia's defense had been struggling to cope with FC Dallas' pace on the wing and paid the price with Dallas' second of the night just before the break.

Dallas defender Jackson Gonçalves broke down the right and floated in a wonderful cross which caught the Union defense in an odd spot. Castillio was on hand to bang in the second of the match, marking a great night for the youngster and the first time Philadelphia has given up multiple goals in a single match this term, though it has to be said that the marking from Philadelphia left plenty to be desired.

With a two goal advantage Dallas went to the half by far the happier of the two teams and would never look back.

Second Half

Former FCD striker Carlos Ruiz entered the match for the Union at the break, with Philadelphia trying to spark some life into its attack. But Dallas was in no mood to let this match get away and held firm, allowing the Union very few chances despite the added strike power.

The best chance of the night for the Union was through Danny Mwanga, who pounded a nice shot toward the corner with just under half an hour to play after being set up by Ruiz. Dallas 'keeper Kevin Hartman got down well to make the save and preserve the shutout.

The the rest of the Union's chances were blocked out well by defenders or simply missed the target, and Hartman was rarely tested.

Dallas could have increased its lead on a number of occasions in the second half as the Hoops' attack seemed to be clicking well for the first time since David Ferreira went down to injury, but the third goal was not to come and the home fans would have to settle for a 2-0 win.
