Uh-oh. Some afters. The Chivas players are emotional and disappointed and they're pushing and shoving. It was Kovalenko and Preki who were going at each other like hyenas.

Kljestan tries to get to a throughball but he can't make it and he complains he was impeded. He was held a little but not enough to complain. And he's booked for his reaction.

Obviously, the ref wants the SuperClasico to go on as long as possible. Salazar loves him some superclasico action.

Poor corner again. Why can't anyone for Chivas get a corner over the first man?

Last minute...sharp interchange from Chivas about 25 yards outside of goal and they win a corner.

Good shift from Magee. His addition to the starting XI has made a difference for LA in the latter stages of this season.

Beckham again over the top to Donovan, and the US international has to spin around and find Magee. His shot is blocked. It's Beckham's last touch as Gordon comes in.

Now Nagamura comes close. A corner kick is cleared poorly and the Brazilian blasts a shot over the bar.

And the Goats nearly pull it right back! Galindo gets in behind the defense, but his volleyed shot is nicked just over the bar.

It starts with Beckham, who drives a sick, first-touch 40-yard ball over the top to Donovan. LD's cross finds Magee, who is taken down by Cuesta. Actually, is nutted by Cuesta. Salazar blows the whistle. Good call.

mmm...lovely touch from Kovalenko to begin a give-and-go with Donovan at the top of the box, but Kovalenko's shot is like diner coffee--weak!

Kirovski on for Klein for LA. A good attacking substitution by Arena, but is any Galaxy fan really optimistic by Kirovski's insertion?

OOOOOHHHHH...big save from Thornton! Donovan drops it back to Klein and swerves a 20-yard shot. Thornton at full stretch to knock it around the post...

Donovan hits a bouncing ball and puts it into the stands. He's better than that...Looks like Kirovski is about to come in.

OMG, as the kids say. An electric counterattack from Chivas, led by Braun, who drives a ball to the left for Kljestan, who finds Maicon Santos. But the Brazilian hits a cross/shot and neither one works. Goal kick.

LA's Magee gets the ball about 20 yards out, turns, and rifles a shot...into the 17th row. That's not going to win it.

Yellow card to Franklin after a rough tackle near the midfield... and Chivas make a substitution...Galindo is in. Can the Cuban make the difference like he did last week?

And there it is...Beckham gets to the byline after a one-two with Donovan. His looping cross goes to the far post where Magee can only hit it from an acute angle. Misses the target and Chivas clear.

Game is getting stretched. The Chief: "Not very good spacing. That's garbage Buddle!" Would be nice to see someone settle things down, look to play a dangerous ball...

Gonzalez and Braun clatter together and Gonzo comes out the worse for it. See, that's about the only exciting moment of the first ten minutes of the second stanza. Someone needs to do something.

Seems that Thornton had an injury coming out of the locker room at halftime. He was limping. Will that be a factor? Especially if it goes to penalties?

Poor cross from Beckham on the right side. He does well to get by the defender, but his service is high and too far. Why didn't he go to goal? Mr. Posh is not having a great game.

The Chief: "Magee looks like Bradley Cooper from The Hangover." Maybe the Chief will give us lookalikes for everyone.

The Chief: Kovalenko is hard to beat, huh?

Nagamura crushes a half-volley after a poor clearance by LA's Franklin. It goes wide, but he got all of it. A sign of things to come in the second half from Chivas. We'll see.

The Chief: "Kljestan looks like Uncle Rico from Napolean Dynamite."

Oh! Good ball into the box for Chivas, but Padilla couldn't reach it. That would've been a sitter if he'd been a yard closer to the goal.

Kljestan came closest in the first 45 with his long-ranger effort, but LA probably had more chances. It's going to come down to one goal, I bet. One goal and one team goes on.

No. A terrible corner from Beckham--AGAIN!--and there's the whistle.

Into stoppage time of the first half...poor giveaway from Kljestan. What's he thinking with a blind pass at midfield?!?

As the first half has worn on, Chivas have slowly started to control the midfield, especially when Kljestan comes into the middle. He makes the difference.

Is that a penalty? No way. Talley went down way too easily during a Kljestan corner. Probably lucky not to be booked for simulation, which would've been his second yellow.

Bornstein! Where has he been tonight? He finally got down the left side and served a ball in. And lo and behold, Chivas win a header.

This isn't Barcelona-Real Madrid, but it's been a pretty exciting match. Must believe that there will be a couple of goals. And more than a few yellows before it's over.

Aiaiai... Kljestan just came close. Super close. A vicious shot from distance screwed toward the upper 90 and bounced off the top of the crossbar. Ricketts was beaten, but the ball didn't dip enough.

Maicon Santos gets down the left side, slipped around Franklin, but wastes his shot up and high.

OH! Klein, picked out by Donovan, hits a standing volley and forces a nice save from Thornton. That looked harmless, but he got some good wood on it, as the hockey guys say. The shot had some zip, that's for sure. But it couldn't beat the big man between the pipes.

Good chance for Beckham blasted over. Came from a bumbling ball that came to Kovalenko and he found Becks. His one-time strike with the right foot was all set up and the master shooter leaned back too much.

Whoa! A series of giveaways and missed tackles finally falls to Braun. He whips a curled left-footer toward the left post and Ricketts flings himself airward to make the save. I'm telling you, Braun is an unexpected difference maker. He's Chivas's answer to Buddle.

Half hour in and neither team has really asserted itself. Probably have to say LA has had better chances, but nothing clear cut. Chivas, on the other hand, have had a weak header and nothing else.

Strange play there...A one-two bwteen Buddle and Donovan saw the former break through, but Nagamura got there first. His clearance, however, slammed off Buddle and ricocheted dangerously close to goal. That would be a shameful way to win the series.

Great freekick from Beckham...but no one attacked it at the back post!?! Doesn't anyone on LA want to score?

Whistle for a foul on Cuesta. Uh-oh. Referee Ricardo Salazar isn't happy with Cuesta. The feeling's mutual. Good opportunity...

Finally, a good cross from Becks. He puts it over the top and a foul from Buddle earns a whistle. A good, lightning attack from LA. They're most dangerous on the counter, with the ball at Donovan's feet. When they search out (read: force it to) Beckham, there's no threat.

Have to say, Padilla hasn't been the effective winger the Goats were hoping for. Why is that?

Padilla catches Berhalter in possession--not surprising--and goes at goal. But he can't get a great angle on Gonzalez and the strike is weak. Simple save for Ricketts.

How come no one on LA can serve a ball with any menace? Their crosses look like kicks in kickball with a big red bouncy ball.

Braun...the most Argentine non-Argentine in American soccer. He needs a nickname. Razor? Coffeemaker?

Donovan again running at the defense...man, that's fun to watch..eventually it comes to Klein, whose long shot is deflected wide for a corner.

Oooh...dangerous half-chance for Maicon Santos. Braun sets it up by chasing down a throughball from Talley. He controls, plays it wide to Padilla, who curls a cross in from the right. In the end, though Maicon Santos can't get any power on the header, and puts it wide anyway.

Ball from the left by Dunivant, but Buddle can't get there at the near post. LA has had more of the possession and more of the threat. Have to shade the first quarter of an hour the Galaxy's way. But still, only one chance from Donovan, which he flashed wide.

Buddle makes a huge difference to the LA attack. He has great feet and knows how to run off the ball. Neither of which can be said with any confidence for the guys up top for Chivas.

Poor freekick to the far post. Too much height again and it eventually goes out for a goalkick. Beckham is better than that. We'll see that low whipped ball at some point, I'm sure.

Beckham's shinguards are causing a problem. He's got to re-do them and pull his socks up. Didn't they teach the lads at ManU the fundamentals?

Cuesta runs over Donovan. How many times will see type that?

Giveaway from Cuesta. How many times will we say that tonight? But Donovan can do nothing with the ball, running into two Chivas defenders.

Donovan looks lively playing with Buddle. A nice through ball finds LD and he fires just wide with the left foot. Wins a corner though...But it's wasted. Not a good set piece from Beckham. Too high. Too easy for the keeper to come and punch away.

More questions: Will LA's Berhalter escape without a card? Will LA's Gonzalez pick up his play after a gaffe-filled first leg? When will Galindo come in for Chivas?

And Beckham comes into the middle. Will he do the defensive work in the middle, with only Kovalenko for support?

Couple of notes about the starting lineup. For LA, no Birchall. The Trinidad international making way on the right side for Klein. Interesting.

Donovan with a snap-header off a cross from the right by Klein. But he couldn't get the power on it, going away from goal. Thornton made the save easily, although he did bobble it. Nervous?

Confetti is raining down on the Home Depot Center. Looks great. A real festive atmosphere.

Good evening everyone. Goal.com Magazine editor Greg Lalas here with you for the live commentary tonight. Well, this is it. The last game of the MLS Playoffs first round. Fitting that it's the SuperClasico (gotta roll that "r"), with everything at stake after a 2-2 draw in the first leg. They share a stadium, they share office space, they share a parking lot, they might even share carpools now and then. All that familiarity means they don't like each other. And this series is only cementing the reality that this is the best rivalry in MLS.
