  • That's it! TFC holds on for the 2-0 victory with goals by Defoe and Moore. Thanks for following along with me today. Once again, I'm Rudi Schuller (@RudiSchuller on Twitter), and it was my pleasure.

    Assist Joe Bendik
  • 90' + 5'
    Goal L. Moore
  • 90' + 5'
MOORE SEALS IT! The long punt from Bendik bounces over everyone, and Moore just has to walk it into the open net. This one is over.
  • 90' + 2'
BEKKER CHANCE! The midfielder forces a turnover and dishes off to Defoe, who then gives it back to Bekker inside the area. He side foots it JUST wide. That would have iced it.
  • 90' + 1'
We're into 5 minutes of added time. Not sure how the officials calculated that.
  • 88'
    Yellow Card Jermain Defoe

Some handbags here at BMO Field as both sides are getting heated. These final moments are going to be fun.
  • 82'
TFC has been infamous for giving up late goals over its history. The home side will need to work extra hard to stop that trend, as NY has been throwing bodies forward all half long in an effort to equalize.
  • 81'
    SubstitutionBobby Convey Ruben Bover
  • 78'
The game is opening up in the final quarter hour. Are more goals in store?
  • 69'
LOVITZ CHANCE! The TFC rookie has a shot cleared off the line after a great squared pass from Mark Bloom eludes everyone. That would have been something for the Toronto youngster, who had just subbed in moments earlier.
  • 68'
    SubstitutionÁlvaro Rey Daniel Lovitz
  • 62'
HUGE MISS WRIGHT-PHILLIPS! The NYRB striker has the entire goal to shoot at after Henry swings in a cross that results in a collision between Lloyd Sam and Joe Bendik. The ball fall to BWP, who skies it from 5 yards out despite having an open net staring him down. Unreal miss there.
  • 58'
NY gets a couple of quick corners, but nothing comes of it.
  • 56'
    SubstitutionGilberto L. Moore
  • 55'
Red Bulls applying more pressure in the early going of this half. We'll see if it comes to anything.
  • 49'
New York free kick 25 yards from TFC's goal, taken by Henry. His floated effort drifts very close to the net, but is tipped over by Bendik.
  • 48'
    SubstitutionKosuke Kimura Chris Duvall
  • 46'
And we're back. Can NYRB claw back into this one?
  • And that's the half! Despite being outpossessed 60-40, TFC looks by far the better team today. We'll see what the second half has in store.
  • 45'
    Yellow Card Justin Morrow
  • 42'
    Yellow Card Jamison Olave
  • 40'
New York finding some space to push forward now.
  • 34'
Lloyd Sam gets free down the right for NYRB, but his effort across goal is punched away by Bendik. Henry collects for New York and floats in a cross that is grabbed by the TFC keeper.
  • 31'
DEFOE CHANCE! Bekker hits the Englishman with a pass at the top of the NYRB area, and he chests it down and one-times the volley over the bar.
  • 24'
Osorio threads a pass through to Defoe, who then beats two men while weaving into the NY box. He takes one touch too many, though, as the ball is poked away as he's lining up to shoot.
  • 22'
New York earns a pair of corner kicks in quick succession, but they amount to nothing.
  • 17'
GILBERTO CHANCE! Morrow earns a free kick just outside the NY penalty area, and the ball is powered across the goalmouth. It skips past Defoe to a lunging Gilberto, but the Brazilian is just behind the play and he doesn't get all of it.
  • 12'
    Assist Bradley Orr
  • 12'
    Goal Jermain Defoe
  • 8'
DEFOE CHANCE! Rey puts a throughball into the box that Defoe receives nicely. He cuts around his defender and strikes a ball on goal, but Robles does well to get down quickly and knock the ball out of harm's way. Good end-to-end action here so far.
  • 6'
    Yellow Card Thierry Henry
  • 6'
Henry beats Hagglund down the near side and floats a ball across that finds Jonny Steele. His effort is parried away by Joe Bendik.
  • 1'
    And we're off!
  • New York is without Tim Caill and Roy Miller, who are with Australia and Costa Rica, respectively.
  • The Red Bulls have owned TFC over the past five years, with NY sporting a 7-0-3 record versus Toronto since Sept 2009. If Toronto wants to reverse that trend today, it'll have to do it without Michael Bradley and Julio Cesar. Bradley is off to the World Cup training camp with the U.S., while Julio Cesar is out with the flu.
  • Hello and welcome to Goal's LIVE commentary of Toronto FC vs. New York Red Bulls. I'm Rudi Schuller (@RudiSchuller on Twotter), and I'll be providing you with all the action today.
