That is it from me, Tom Webber, for this evening. I hope you enjoyed the game! Enjoy the remainder of your night and begin your countdown to tomorrow's Champions League action.
FULL TIME: Bayern 3-0 CSKA: It seemed inevitable that Pep Guardiola would get die Roten's title defence off to a winning start when Alaba gave them the lead after four minutes. Goals from Mandzukic and Robben helped secure the three points, but a tougher test awaits in the form of Manchester City. Nevertheless, a deserved victory for the Bavarian outfit.
90' + 3'
GREAT STRIKE!! Tosic has an effort from range which Neuer palms straight back into the danger area, but it proves to be the last action of the game.
90' + 1'
We are into the first of an additional three minutes.
Good save! Akinfeev gets down and parries a powerful effort from Schweinsteiger off to his right. Shaqiri attempts to keep play alive from the loose ball but he is judged to have been in an offside position.
SHAQIRI!! So close! A fantastic cross from Muller picks out the run of Shaqiri. The Swiss looks to cushion the ball and guide it into the far corner with his left foot but he sees it roll agonisingly wide of the post.
That should be a free kick, surely! Muller is felled just outside the area with what is a blatant foul. The ball runs through to Pizarro, but the Peruvian is in an offside position. The referee therefore gives CSKA the free kick, rather than pull the play back and award it in favour of the hosts.
Lovely football from Bayern as they work the ball from right to left and Ribery angles a wonderful disguised pass out to Alaba. The Austrian gets his foot to it but is unable to bring it under control inside the area.
That would have been stunning! Honda squares the ball to Milanov 25 yards from goal in a central position. A bad first touch sees it loop into the air but he makes up for it with a sutnning volley that dips just on top of the net.
Lovely football from Alaba as he moves into a central position before spreading the play out to Muller on the right. The forward tries to bend a cross in between the keeper and his defence but fails to beat the first man at the near post.
STAT: Bayern are in the group stage for the sixth consecutive season. They have they only failed to progress from this phase of the competition once - in 2002-03.
Honda counters with a run down the left and he gets his head up and puts a cross into the area. He is unable to find a team-mate and Lahm is the man who is back to clear it away.
It really has not been Muller's night tonight. He comes across to the left in search of more luck but he is unable to beat Nababkin. The Germany international has been far from his best. Now I have said that he will probably score, though!
Ahmed Firaz Moosa
Ribery whips a cross into the area and Schweinsteiger is the man looking to get on the end of it. Schennikov tracks his run, though, and heads the ball behind for a corner.
Schweinsteiger enters the fray for Kroos, who was not quite at his best this evening. His replacement scored in Bayern's last home victory against a Russian side when they defeated Spartak Moscow 4-0 in the 2006-07 Champions League group stages.
CSKA have a chance to immediately pull one back as Zuber moves into the area from the left and rolls a pass across to Honda. The Japan international seems hesitant on the ball and ends up trying to bundle his way through Dante, who stands firm and enable the keeper to collect.
Assist David Alaba
Goal Arjen Robben
GOOOAALL!! Robben makes it three! Ribery's cross ends up finding Alaba outside the area and he lifts an exquisite pass over the defence for the Dutchman. He controls the ball with his chest before smashing it into the back of the net for an emphatic finish.
CSKA have certainly been holding their own in this half. Bayern have been restricted mainly to efforts from outside the box and the Russians look a far more organised outfit that they did in the opening 45 minutes.
Manchester City are currently 3-0 up against Viktoria Plzen in the other Group D encounter being played tonight. Goals from Edin Dzeko, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero currently look to be sending them to the top of the group tonight.
Mandzukic should do better there! Dante's long diagonal ball over the top is met by the striker as he finds space between Berezutski and Ignashevich. He gets his foot to the pass but it lacks the power or direction to beat Akinfeev, and the keeper gathers comfortably.
Tosic has proved a real handful since coming on at the break and he wins a free kick for his side wide on the left. Honda is the man to take it but he sends it straight into the wall! What a waste.
STAT: Bayern were last defeated by Russian opposition on their own turf in 1995 as Lokomotiv Moscow earned a 1-0 win in Munich in the Uefa Cup. It does look like we're going to have a similar outcome tonight.
Robben moves inside and after a intricate one-two with Lahm he has space to shoot for goal. His effort takes a deflection and that seems to slow it down and enbale Akinfeev to hold the shot.
Ribery and Alaba manage to work space for the latter to send a cross into the area. He hits it far too deep but Mandzukic chases it and hooks the ball back into the danger area, but there is no Bayern player in there to get on the end of it.
Honda clips a good pass to Musa on the edge of the box. The Nigerian bundles his way past Boateng but as Rafinha nicks in and takes the ball away, the CSKA man brings him down and concedes a free kick.
Mandzukic wins the ball in the centre of the park and looks to send Bayern on the counter by sliding a pass out to Robben. The Dutchman in turn passes the ball to Muller but he is unable to bring the ball up to speed with him and Schennikov sneaks in to make a timely challenge.
WHAT A SAVE! A cross in from the left is looped into the air by Berezutski as he attempts to clear it. Robben watches the ball as it descends inside the box and strikes a fierce volley at goal. Akinfeev does exceptionally well to position himself in the way of the shot and turn it behind for a corner. Looks like that could have hurt, it was some hit!
Berezutski goes up to challenge Robben for a header just inside the CSKA half but he leaves an elbow in on the Dutchman. Having felt it he drops to the ground and wins his side a free kick.
The second half has begun!
Welcome back! CSKA are back out on the pitch and it looks as though Tosic is going to come on, despite picking up a knock in the previous game against Rostov.
HALF TIME: Bayern 2-0 CSKA - Pep Guardiola could not have hoped for a better start to die Roten's Champions League defence as Alaba gave them the lead after just four minutes with a wicked free kick. Mandzukic headed in a second shortly before the break to bring an end to a positive spell for the visitors. Be sure to join me in 15 minutes to see if the hosts can maintain their dominance in the second half.
45' + 1'
Half time in Munich!
Just one minute of added time to be played.
That is going to be a big blow for the Russians, who had shown signs of improvement in the latter stages of this half. That goal will kill their momentum and coming so close to half time it will really deflate them.
Assist Arjen Robben
Goal Mario Mandzukic
GOOOOAALL!! Mandzukic makes it two! It comes from a free kick on the right, as Robben pretends to mark a darting run for a pass but whips in the free kick as he walks back to the dead ball. There is a hint of offside but Mandzukic gets his head to the delivery and buries it in the bottom corner.
Vitinho goes down under a fair challenge by Kroos but as he stays on the ground the Bayern midfielder sportingly knocks the ball out of play. The Brazilian eventually gets up after a word from the referee and the hosts are able to continue on with possession.
OFF THE POST!! How has that stayed out! Rafinha's cross is flicked on by Ribery and Mandzukic peels off his marker to connect with it at the back post. His header looks to be bending in but it hits the inside of the fram of the goal and bounces back into the grateful arms of Akinfeev.
Claims for a penalty as Ribery goes down inside the area under a challenge by Schennikov, but the referee is unmoved and waves for play to continue.
Muller and Rafinha both try to pick out Mandzukic inside the area but neither manage to find the striker, with the latter's cross cleared away by Ignashevich.
Vitinho is starting to come into the game now and he forces Neuer to make his first save. The Brazilian drifts inside and fires a left-footed effort at the Bayern goal. His attempt goes right down the middle, though, and the keeper holds onto it.
Great play from Lahm! He takes up the perfect position just in front of his defence and puts in a firm challenge on Vitinho to regain possession for his side.
Bayern have enjoyed 71 per cent possession so far this evening, but the last 10 minutes have seen CSKA begin to disrupt their play by holding onto the ball a bit more themselves. The hosts are now being forced to sit a bit deeper.
It is the first time we've season Honda on the ball this evening and it is down by the corner flag on the near side. He manages to find space to get a cross in but it is headed away by Dante. His clearance only goes as far as Vitinho but the youngster is unable to find his way through a host of dark blue shirts.
CSKA manage to hold onto the ball for a few moments and look to spread the play out to Vitinho on the left. The Brazilian, making his Champions League debut, is perhaps a bit eager and sets off too early and the offside flag is subsequently raised. The break in play enables Rafinha to re-enter the action. Sit down Schweinsteiger!
Rafinha is down and receiving treatment for what looks to be an injured ankle. Schweinsteiger has pulled his bib on and is warming up on the sideline just to be safe.
Great dummy from the referee there! The official lets Alaba's pass straight through his legs and Ribery reads it well to pick up possession on the otherside. Flamboyant!
Good defending from Berezutski! The centre-back does brilliantly to stay tight to Robben inside the area as he intricately passes the ball with Ribery. As the Dutchman goes to pull the trigger from an acute angle he times his tackle well and manages to get away without conceding a corner.
STAT: Bayern have won 12 of their last 14 Uefa Champions League fixtures in Munich, most recently the 4-0 triumph over current coach Pep Guardiola's Barcelona side in last season's edition of the tournament.
Ribery moves inside and is picked out by a team-mate. He takes a touch before looking to thump and effort at Akinfeev, however Ignashevich does well to get a block on the ball which takes all the pace off the effort.
SIDE NETTING!! Rafinha makes his first foray forward and gets into a shooting position just inside the right side of the area. He lashes a well-struck shot at goal but he fails to guide it inside the near post. Positive play from the Brazilian.
You really would not think that Lahm is actually a full back. The Bayern captain is absolutely bossing the middle of the park, showing a great touch and composure under pressure. He is acting as a pivot for the attack and spreading the play excellently which is stretching the CSKA defence and creating holes through the middle.
Good pressing from Musa there. He chased in on Alaba inside the centre circle and forced him to rush his pass. The Austrian kicked it straight out of play and now CSKA have a throw in in the Bayern half.
JUST OVER!! Berezutski rises high to nod away a cross and stop Mandzukic from nodding in, but he only gets the ball as far as Alaba. The left-back sends it straight back in and this time the Croatian meets it, however, he is unable to divert his header on target.
That is a good chance! Musa plays a give-and-go with Honda and then drifts inside from the right as he looks to get a shot away. He manages to find some space by shifting the ball away from Dante but he slices his attempt wide of the far post. Neuer was never going to be worried about that one.
Alaba is practically playing as a striker there! Ribery plays a pass through Nababkin's legs for Mandzukic, and the Croatian plays it inside to the goal scorer. Surrounded by white shirts he quickly tries to shift tha ball back out wide but he passes it behind Ribery and it goes out for a throw.
The visitors have barely touched the ball yet. They have every man behind it but the movement of all the Bayern players has been fantastic so far. They are pressing very high and very fast.
GREAT SAVE!! Mandzukic springs the offside trap and brings the ball under control inside the area. He shapes to bend his effort around the onrushing Akinfeev and into the bottom corner but the keeper stays big and manages to block the shot. That would have been a hammer blow for CSKA so early on.
Good play from the hosts as they spread the play to Ribery on the left, giving him the chance to run at Nababkin for the first time tonight. Alaba sprints around the outside for an overlap and the Frenchman supplies him with the ball, but the cross into the area is cleared away.
Goal David Alaba
GOOOOAALL!! ALABA GETS BAYERN OFF TO A FLYER! CSKA give away a soft free kick 25 yards from goal and in a central possession. Alaba strikes across the ball and arrows his effort over the wall and into the bottom of the corner, despite a touch from Akinfeev.
As you would expect, Bayern have settled straight into the game and are controlling the ball. Lahm, playing in a holding midfield role, sends the ball out to Alaba on the left. The Austrian crosses it and Mandzukic wins the header, looking to knock the ball down for Robben. Berezutski has other ideas, though, and heads the ball behind.
We are under way at the Allianz Arena!
There is no Alan Dzagoev for the visitors this evening after he picked up an injury in the league game against Rostov. He joins Mario Fernandes, Mark Gonzalez, Rasmus Elm and Seydou Doumbia on the absentee list.
The teams are making their way out onto the pitch now. This should be a brilliant game. You cannot underestimate CSKA, who are yet to lose in their opening eight fixtures of their domestic season.
CSKA, meanwhile, have not fared much better against German opposition. The Russian outfit's previous two visits to the country both ended in defeat. They lost 3-2 to Hamburg in the 2006-07 edition of this tournament, and also 3-1 to Wolfsburg in the 2009-10 season.
These two sides have never met in Uefa competition previously. Bayern's last game against Russian opposition came in 2008 and ended in a resounding 4-0 defeat to Zenit St Petersburg, who went on to lift the Uefa Cup.
CSKA bench: Chepchugov, Vasin, A. Berezutski, Tosic, Milanov, Rahimic, Bazelyuk.
CSKA (4-2-3-1): Akinfeev; Nababkin, V. Berezutski, Ignashevich, Schennikov; Cauna, Wernbloom; Zuber, Honda, Vitinho; Musa.
Bayern bench: Starke, Van Buyten, Contento, Kirchhoff, Schweinsteiger, Shaqiri, Pizarro.
Bayern (4-1-4-1): Neuer; Rafinha, Boateng, Dante, Alaba; Lahm; Robben, Muller, Kroos, Ribery; Mandzukic.
Pep Guardiola will be without Mario Gotze, Javi Martinez and Thiago Alcantara for his first Champions League game in charge of die Roten. Having struggled with an ankle injury in the past days, and is only fit enough for the bench. Full line-ups on the way.
The Uefa Champions League is back! Hello and welcome to tonight's LIVE text commentary on the meeting between Bayern Munich and CSKA Moscow. The Bavarian giants will hope to get their quest to become the first club to retain the Champions League title with a win tonight.
