Kieran Gibbs 51′

Aaron Ramsey 64′

Olivier Giroud 77′ (PG)

Arsenal get the perfect away result as strikes from Keiran Gibbs, Aaron Ramsey, and Olivier Giroud give the Gunners a fantastic 3-0 win in Istanbul. You'd figure them overwhelming favourites to progress to the group stage as they take a three-goal advantage back to the Emirates. Fenerbahce have a massive mountain to climb, and if they play like tonight it'll be even worse next week! I'm Martin Macdonald, thanks for joining us on Goal this evening!

FULL TIME.

90′
EMENIKEEEE!!!! The substitute hits a rasper of a strike from the right-hand side but Szczesny just manages to turn the ball round the post! He wants a cleansheet alright!

88′
Arsenal make their third and final change as Theo Walcott is replaced by Natxo Monreal. A defensive change for the Gunners as we approach the last few minutes of play.

87′
Substitution Theo Walcott Monreal

86′
Having said that, they have came up against a poor, poor Fenerbahce side.

85′
Well, what a result for Arsenal this is. They have been under tremendous pressure the last few days after the poor result at the weekend but their attitude and application have been excellent.

83′
Superb save from Szczesny!! Kadlec gets into an advanced position in the box and rifles a left-footed strike towards the far post but the Arsenal 'keeper was equal to it and turned the ball away with a palmed save!

82′
Substitution Raúl Meireles Alper Potuk

82′
Substitution Olivier Giroud Lukas Podolski

81′
Second change of the match from Arsenal as Olivier Giroud comes off to be replaced by Lukas Podolski. Fenerbahce also make a sub as Raul Meireles comes off to boos for Alper Potuk.

79′
Walcott looks to take advantage of Volkan's nervy state with a speculative effort from the edge of the box but this time the Fenerbahce man gets his body behind the ball to make a decent save. He should have done the same for Ramsey's goal...

77′
Penalty Goal Olivier Giroud
GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLL FOR ARSENAL!!! 3-0!!! Giroud steps up and confidently dispatches the spotkick into the top left corner! Volkan no chance!

76′
Yellow Card Michal Kadlec

76′
PENALTY TO ARSENAL!!! Walcott latches on to a pass out to the right and takes a first touch into the box before being unceremoniously bundled over by Kadlec!

75′
Yellow Card Wojciech Szczesny

75′
First Arsenal yellow card of the match goes to Szczesny for time-wasting. Seems a bit harsh as there appeared to be two balls on the pitch!

74′
WALCOTTTT!!! IT SHOULD BE 3-0!! Volkan hits an awful clearance straight to the feet of the Arsenal who drifts beyond Bruno Alves but can't seem to get his strike on target from the tight angle!!

72′
Much more like it from Sow! The 27-year-old pick up the ball 20 yards out and looks to whip a strike towards the top left corner. He is unlucky though as the ball just goes over the bar by a few inches.

70′
Fenerbahce definitely need some shooting practice it seems. Emenike is the latest to try his luck from distance but yet again the attempt goes nearer a throw-in than the goal. Not good enough.

68′
Arsene Wenger's men looking pretty comfortable here. If his side take this result back to London then you can only see one team progressing to the Champions League group stage.

66′
Yellow Card Bruno Alves

66′
MOUSSA SOW!!! THAT WAS A GREAT CHANCE!!! The ball is clipped into the box and the Senegalese powers a header straight over the bar from the penalty spot! Lucky for him he was flagged as offside!

64′
Assist Jack Wilshere

64′
Goal Aaron Ramsey
GOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAL FOR ARSENAL!!! AND IT'S AARON RAMSEY!!! The Welshman drives through the middle and drives a shot at goal from 25 yards that proves to be too powerful for Volkan!! The Fenerbahce man should have saved that! 2-0 Arsenal, what a result this would be!

62′
Substitution Pierre Achille Webo Emenike

62′
Fenerbahce make their second change of the match as the disappointing Webo comes off for Emmanuel Emenike.

61′
WILSHEREEEE!!!! GREAT SAVE FROM VOLKAN!! The Arsenal man shows quick feet on the edge of the area before taking on Bruno Alves and lashing a strike at goal, but the Fenerbahce 'keeper was equal to it and manages to palm the ball to safety.

59′
Really poor from Rosicky. The Czech initially makes a superb powerful run through the middle and leaves Emre and Meireles for dead, but his pass to the left for Giroud is horribly askew and Fenerbahce get the goal kick.

57′
Good from from Topal. The former Valencia man bursts a gut to run back through the middle and dispossess Rosicky, who was looking to counterattack for Arsenal.

57′
Good from from Topal. The former Valencia man bursts a gut to run back through the middle and dispossess Rosicky, who was looking to counterattack for Arsenal.

55′
And Szczesny is in amongst the action again! Sow looks to stretch through on a pass through the middle and gives the Arsenal goalkeeper a sore one with a stud to the leg! It was certainly a brave save from the oncoming Pole!

53′
Great save from Volkan!!! Wilshere makes a bursting run through the middle of the defence and Walcott takes over before attempting a cheeky dink at goal, but the Fenerbahce 'keeper was off his line quickly to make the brave block!

51′
Assist Theo Walcott

51′
Goal Kieran Gibbs
GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAL FOR ARSENAL!!!! THE GUNNERS MAKE THE BREAKTHROUGH!!! Ramsey threads a superb pass in behind the Fenerbahce defence and Walcott lashes a cross to the back post for Gibbs, who finds the roof of the net! 1-0!!!

50′
Wasteful from Gibbs. Cazorla uses his quick feet to jink past Kadlec and whips a lovely pass down the inside-left channel, but the Englishman's cross is cut out at the front post. The final ball needs to be better.

49′
Kuyt receives the ball 25 yards from goal and tries his luck from distance but he's leaning back as he strikes the ball and the attempt ends up rising over the bar. Szczesny never really looked troubled.

47′
A change to report for you at the break as Gokhan Gonul has come on in place of Bekir Irtegun for Fenerbahce. Perhaps a change in tactics for the hosts?

46′
Substitution Bekir İrtegün Gökhan Gönül

46′
We are back under way in Istanbul!

Half time in Istanbul. Arsenal have enjoyed the majority of possession and certainly look the more likely team to score. However, with the injury to Laurent Koscielny they now field a makeshift back four. Fenerbahce don't look like scoring at all but all can change in the second half. So far so good for Arsene Wenger. Join us in 15 minutes for the second period.

44′
The Gunners are enjoying a good period of possession in and around the Fenerbahce box as we approach the end of the half. However, they hare being faced with a 10-man defensive barrier as the hosts don't want to go behind so near the break.

42′
It just doesn't happen for Arsenal! Walcott lashes a cross into the penalty area and the ball bounces to the feet of Wilshere and eventually Giroud. but the ball just won't sit and Fenerbahce eventually scramble the ball clear!

40′
However, with Arsenal's makeshift back four in place, they will always have a chance to score if they get Webo, Kuyt, and Sow more into the match. They need to start passing the ball better now, as it's all been relatively easy for the London side so far.

38′
Fenerbahce have been an attacking non-entity so far. Szczesny in the Arsenal goal hasn't had a save to make and the home fans will no doubt be frustrated at the lack of action in the final third.

36′
Walcott receives the ball out wide and looks to dance his way into the box. However, a touch too many allows Bruno Alves to reclaim possession for the hosts.

34′
The Fenerbahce fans turn up the noise as they look to give their team a boost as we approach the last 10 minutes of the half. A goal for either side just now would change the dimension of the match.

33′
Substitution Laurent Koscielny Carl Jenkinson

32′
Koscielny wont be able to continue, and will more than likely require stitches on his face. Jenkinson will be his replacement, which will likely see Sagna move in to the centre of defence.

30′
Yellow Card Pierre Achille Webo

30′
Koscielny looks to be in bother here! The Frenchman has took a very nasty kick to the face from Webo and there definitely looks to be blood coming from his face. The Arsenal physios quickly come on to mend the damage.

28′
Bekir bravely out-jumps GIbbs and Cazorla to clear the ball out of the box for Kuyt. The Dutchman drives down the right but his ball inside to Sow is easily cut out by Ramsey.

26′
Positive goalkeeping from Szczesny! Emre whips in a free kick from the left wing but the Pole dashes of his line to confidently collect the set-piece out of the air. He sends Rosicky down the left as Arsenal look to counter...

24′
RAMSEY!! The ball breaks to the Welshman on the edge of the box and he looks to lash a strike into the bottom left corner, but he couldn't get enough of a connection to bother Volkan Demirel in the Fenerbahce goal. Goal kick to the hosts.

22′
Wilshere looks to combine with Sagna down the right-hand side but is dispossessed by Kadlec who gallops down the wing. He exchanges a one-two with Sow, but is eventually flagged as offside.

20′
Hurrah! Meireles completes his first pass of the match as Fenerbahce finally look to calm things down in the middle of midfield. The home side's retention of possession really has been awful up to this point.

18′
GIROOOUUUUD!!! That wasn't far away at all! Walcott clips a cross to the penalty spot for his team-mate who arches his neck and guides a header towards the far post. Luckily for Fenerbahce, it goes just wide.

16′
Giroud runs into the left channel and holds up the ball well before reversing back into the path of Cazorla. The Spaniard whips a shot at goal from the edge of the box which cannons off the chest of Bruno Alves. Arsenal want a penalty but it was a half-hearted shout.

14′
Walcott's corner kick into the box is poor and Fenerbahce counterattack up the pitch. The ball finds the feet or Meireles but again the Portuguese gives up possession with a poor pass, with this time Moussa Sow the intended target.

13′
Really nice move from Arsenal there! Rosicky combines with Wilshere on the edge of the box and the Englishman threads a pass down the channel for Gibbs, but the eventual cross into the box is blocked out for a corner kick.

11′
Raul Meireles has received possession three or four times already and each and every time he has needlessly surrendered the ball. The home side looking a bit nervy!

9′
A small scuffle ensues down the left-hand side as Gibbs and Rosicky look to rob the ball from the feet of Bekir. The referee judges their attempts to be slightly over-the-top, and awards a free kick to Fenerbahce.

7′
The visitors have definitely settled the better here. Ramsey, Wilshere, and Cazorla all look pretty comfortable on the ball and it looks like it's doing wonders for any potential pre-match nerves.

6′
Ramsey taps the ball beyond Emre and looks to burst down the right-hand side, only to be upended by the Turk. However, the referee opts to play on. That looked a certain foul!

4′
Cazorla drifts past Kuyt inside and then drives a pass out to Walcott. The Englishman ignores the overlapping run of Sagna and has a shot at goal which bounces off a Fenerbahce leg. Not the best attempt there, decent move though.

3′
Arsenal just manage to spray the ball along the back four and they are met with a massive chorus of boos from the stands! An intimidating atmosphere indeed! This won't be easy for the Gunners!

1′
We are under way in Istanbul!

The Champions League anthem sounds out in the stands, creating a cracking atmosphere!

The players have took to the field and we are just a few minutes from kick-off!

The atmosphere in this particular stadium has proved to be intimidating at times in the past, can this Arsenal team remain cool to progress to the group stage?

Fenerbahce could yet be thrown out of the Champions League even if they win their tie against the English side, as they await a ruling from the Court of Arbitration for Sport regarding accusations from Uefa of match-fixing.

The pressure is on for the Gunners after a disappointing opening day to the Premier League season, in which they came out 3-1 losers against Aston Villa. A defeat tonight could be very damaging for Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal (4-2-3-1): Szczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs; Wilshere, Ramsey; Rosicky, Cazorla, Walcott; Giroud.

Fenerbahce (4-3-3): Volkan; Bruno Alves, Yobo, Bekir, Kadlec; Mehmet Topal, Emre, Meireles; Kuyt, Sow, Webo.
