Huge double save to keep his team in front in the first half, and was forced into action a bit more in the second half. Claimed every ball he needed to claim and couldn't do anything about the penalty.

  • DaMarcus Beasley

    DaMarcus Beasley

Got forward a lot as Torres vacated the left flank to tuck inside. provided good width and played in a few dangerous balls. Fouled Zelaya to give up the penalty and struggled at times when El Salvador actually got men forward down his wing.

    Michael Parkhurst

Set Diskerud up for a chance and did a really nice job of getting into the attack throughout the game. Probably should have even had a goal of his own.

    J. Corona

Looked like he was in the mood to attack early on and grabbed the USA's second goal, rounding off a nice team move with a good bit of skill to open himself up and a calm finish.

    M. Diskerud

Missed a glorious chance to open the scoring 14 minutes in. Was solid enough in midfield but not exactly dynamic. Did well in winning balls back for the USA and did spread it around to the playmakers on the wings. Got himself a goal late on.

  • Kyle Beckerman

    Kyle Beckerman

Played a couple of very dangerous balls in, and along with Torres and Diskerud really dominated the middle of the pitch.

    J. Torres

Helped keep the the ball moving through the midfield and rarely gave up possession. Combined well with Beasley down the left flank and put in some very good service on set plays.

    Landon Donovan

Helped set up the first two USA goals and will get credited with an assist on the first, but did a lot of the work for the USA's second. Finally found a goal for himself late on, and added another assist for Diskerud.

    Chris Wondolowski

Set Corona up for the USA's second and put in another solid shift up top, giving El Salvador's back line plenty of problems simply by working hard.

Came on in the second half to run the left flank and provided more width than Torres did, which worked well as Beasley's runs forward slowed down.

    Eddie Johnson

A forward comes on as a sub and scores with his first touch. What more can you ask. Did have a couple of chances after, but got the goal the USA needed.

    Dagoberto Portillo

The USA could have been out of sight in the first half if not for a number of big saves. Positioning was great throughout.

    X. García

Caught out far too many times, made a few nice challenges as the USA attacked relentlessly.

    José Mardoqueo Henríquez

Did a lot of good work in keeping tabs on Wondolowski, both in the run of play and from set pieces, and probably saved his team a couple of goals. Let the ball pass between his legs to set up a USA goal though.

  • V. Turcios

    V. Turcios

The captain didn't do much to help his team and seemed well off the pace.

    D. Cerén

A couple of dangerous runs forward early and was one of the better players for his side.

Overrun for much of the first 45 and really needed to be better, like most of his teammates.

  • O. Romero

    5
    2.50

    O. Romero

Did very well tracking back to keep Corona in check early on, lost the plot from time to time as the USA attacked down his side regularly. Subbed at half.

  • A. Flores
    3
    3
    2.00

    A. Flores

Wasted a couple of chances on the break when he had better options, but was wiling to take his chances and go forward.

    4.00

    R. Zelaya

Set up what should have been a sure goal and looked like the most dangerous player on the pitch for his side for most of the afternoon. A tricky run from him won the penalty, which he also converted.

    M. Blanco

Missed a glorious chance to get his side back level in the 26th, and was really just occupying defenders to give Zelaya space to work. Subbed at half.

Came on at halftime and provided a nice spark. Wasted a great chance to pull his team level just after halftime, but did well when he got on the ball.
