    Adrián San Miguel Del Castillo

After his Chelsea heroics this was a much quieter afternoon. Tomkins saved him from being severely tested by Bony and he had no other real saves to make.

    George McCartney

Didn’t provide much of an attacking outlet but managed to keep Dyer on the periphery.

  • James Tomkins

    James Tomkins

Dominant in the air against Bony and made one brilliant recovering challenge to deny the Ivorian a one-on-one chance with Adrian.

    James Collins

Bony and Dyer got in behind him on a couple of occasions but Swansea’s inability to find any real attacking rhythm meant those moments were few and far between. Otherwise untroubled.

  • Guy Demel

    Guy Demel

Never looks entirely convincing but shackled Routledge reasonably well and got forward to provide another crossing option for his side.

  • Kevin Nolan

    3.50

    Kevin Nolan

Looked rejuvenated with his old partner in crime Carroll on the pitch and his movement and finishing in and around the box merited two goals.

  • Matthew Jarvis

    3.00

    Matthew Jarvis

Full of energy and always looked to beat his man before swinging in numerous dangerous crosses to enable Carroll to terrorise the Swansea defence. Sacrificed by Allardyce in the wake of Carroll's dismissal.

  • Matthew Taylor

    3.00

    Matthew Taylor

Put a good shift in through the middle and filled in well on the left when Carroll's dismissal necessitated a tactical re-shuffle, putting in dangerous crosses all afternoon.

  • Mark Noble

    Mark Noble

Worked his socks off in the centre of midfield and played one brilliant through-ball to send Jarvis racing to the byline in the first half.

  • Stewart Downing

    Stewart Downing

Played an excellent hanging cross to allow Carroll to find Nolan for West Ham's first and the quality of his deliveries was consistently good.

  • Andy Carroll

Andy Carroll Top of the Match

The best player on the pitch until his harsh dismissal. Won seemingly every aerial duel he competed in and his understanding with Nolan won the match. Perhaps the decision to swing his arm in the direction of Chico without looking was reckless, but the Spaniard made a lot of fairly minimal contact.

Substitutions

    Winston Reid

A fan favourite, he came on to a rapturous welcome in place of Taylor on 79 minutes.

    Carlton Cole

Came on as Carroll's replacement battering ram in place of Jarvis when the big man was sent off.

  • Gerhard Tremmel

    2.00

    Gerhard Tremmel

Could do little about either of Nolan's goals - his defence left him far too exposed - and was otherwise given few opportunities to distinguish himself. His kicking was also very shaky at times.

  • Jordi Amat

    1.50

Jordi Amat Flop of the Match

Did not succeed in breaking up the rhythm of the West Ham midfield and failed to track Nolan into the box.

  • Chico
    0
    0
    2.50

    Chico

Could not handle the physical presence of Carroll and his play-acting to get the Englishman sent off made him a classic pantomime villain. Gaining his team a man advantage was his only noteworthy contribution.

  • Ashley Williams
    0
    0
    2.00

    Ashley Williams

Appeared at a loss to deal with Carroll in the air and was hardly helped by the inability of his team-mates to track West Ham's midfield runners - particularly Nolan.

  • Dwight Tiendalli
    0
    0
    2.00

    Dwight Tiendalli

Gave Downing too much room to supply Carroll with dangerous crosses and offered too few of his own when bombing forward, particularly in the second half.

  • Ben Davies

    0
    2.00

    Ben Davies

Troubled by Jarvis' pace and direct running and enjoyed a far easier game once the winger was withdrawn - but by then the damage was done.

  • Jonjo Shelvey

    0
    2.00

    Jonjo Shelvey

Not his most influential afternoon as Noble, Taylor and Nolan outworked the Swansea midfield. Replaced by Hernandez with 20 minutes left.

  • Nathan Dyer
    0
    0
    2.00

    Nathan Dyer

Made one good darting run in behind in the first half which he then undermined with indecision on the ball, and was otherwise disappointingly anonymous.

  • Wayne Routledge

    0
    2.00

    Wayne Routledge

Switched from left to right as the game progressed but got no more joy out of McCartney than he did out of Demel.

  • Jonathan De Guzmán

    Jonathan De Guzmán

Unleashed one dangerous deflected shot in the second half but that was it.

  • Wilfried Bony

    2.50

    Wilfried Bony

Denied by a brilliant Tomkins saving challenge in the first half as he raced through on Adrian. He was generally starved of service but wasted one presentable chance from a Tiendalli cross after the break.

Substitutions

  • Pablo Hernández

Replaced Amat on 63 minutes but offered nothing more than fresh legs.

Came on for Dyer on 77 minutes and made no impact.
