  DID YOU KNOW?
  • Since 2000, Canada and Costa Rica have met eight times. The Ticos hold a slight edge during that period, with three wins to Canada's two. The other three meetings resulted in draws.
  • This will be the first match between the two sides since a 2-2 result in 2009.
  • Costa Rica is still alive in World Cup Qualifying, sporting a 1-1-1 record in the Hexagonal after three rounds of play.
  • Like Canada, the Costa Ricans have assembled a very experimental side for this match. Defender Michael Umaña is by the far the most experienced of the squad, with 66 caps to his name. The next highest is Jhonny Acosta with 17 caps.
  • Former Canadian international and current FC Edmonton coach Colin Miller will helm his second stint of the year as interim bench boss. He was last in charge for a pair of friendlies in January.
  • At 32, Julian de Guzman is the oldest member of Canada's squad. Samuel Piette, 18, is the youngest.
  • Striker Daniel Haber is the only uncapped player in Canada's camp. The 21-year-old Toronto native was most recently with Israeli club Maccabi Haifa, where he scored twice in just 101 minutes of action.
