Santos Laguna will progress to the CONCACAF Champions League final after a 2-1 aggregate win over Seattle.

Santos Laguna eliminated Seattle Sounders FC from the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals with a 1-1 result on Tuesday. A week earlier, the Liga MX side took a 1-0 away win, giving it a 2-1 aggregate win.

Down a goal already, Seattle attacked quickly, with Eddie Johnson and Steve Zakuani wasting good early chances. Santos punished the MLS side for the misses. Zach Scott gave up a free kick near the box, and Carlos Darwin Quintero cranked his shot off the underside of the post. The ball bounced over the line and then out. Herculez Gomez made sure with a header to double the host side's aggregate lead.

Quintero should have doubled his tally before halftime. A tidy one-two helped him past the Seattle defense, and he placed his shot off the post. Oribe Peralta overhit the rebound, clearing his shot over the goal.

Substitute Lamar Neagle equalized with 20 minutes remaining. DeAndre Yedlin chipped the ball up the right flank. Neagle muscled Felipe Baloy off the ball and crossed to Zakuani. Oswaldo Sanchez rushed out to smother the shot, but the rebound fell to Neagle, who tucked it away.

In the 79th minute, Quintero put the ball past Michael Gspurning again. He nipped in front of the Seattle defenders to meet a low Peralta center, and stabbed home. However, the referee whistled the play offside and the goal didn't count.
