Former Liverpool goalkeeper Bouzanis had a decent enough evening as he made some routine saves, commanded his penalty area well and put in a mistake-free performance. Also pushed forward created havoc on the final sequence to help Oldham steal an equalizer.
If there was any Oldham player with reason to be quaking in his boots pre-match, Brown would be near the top of the list. The right-back lined up against terrible-twosome Pienaar and Baines, however, he put in a very competent display, generally forcing the duo inside.
Most of the visitors' attacks went through the middle, therefore Grounds did not have a great deal of one-on-one defending to do. On the ball he was confident and direct, while he often moved into a more central position to good effect if numbers were short.
Found the physicality of Anichebe tough to contend with at times and let the Everton man nudge him out of the way too easily for his equalizer. He gave away a few needless fouls, too.
Undoubtedly the more composed of Oldham's center backs. The 20-year-old used the ball well and made several excellently timed tackles, particularly one on Mirallas in the second half. A product of Oldham's academy and he looks to be a decent prospect.
The man on loan from Reading played a starring role for the Latics at times. He gave them the lead with a tap-in after some good movement, and struck the post a few minutes later. Always looked a danger on the left and put in a promising display.
Everton named a strong side for the tie and their midfield was no different, meaning Wesolowski and Co. were in for a busy evening. The Australian had a mixed bag as he tackled well and put himself about with authority, but his passing left a lot to be desired.
This time last year Baxter was an Everton player after coming through the ranks as a highly rated attacker. Playing against his old club, the former England youth international showed a series of impressive flashes as well as defensive nous.
With Iwelumo the target man, Barnard was left to do the leg work in and around the big man. His link-up play with the midfield was often effective as he brought others in to play, but he made a rather catastrophic error for Everton's second goal as he held on to Jagielka rather than trying to head the ball.
The former Norwich and Manchester City wide man put in a very productive shift on the right-hand side of midfield. A quick break after an Everton corner saw him produce an assist for Obita, while his tracking back to defend against Baines was excellent.
Watford loanee Iwelumo was given the rather thankless task of being the target for all of Oldham's hopeless blasts up field and he could do very little with most of them. A few times he was able to head the ball on for Barnard, but Everton dealt with him fairly well.
Came on and played for most of the second half, but he was relatively quiet in midfield.
Liverpool's tormentor three weeks ago had to make his influence known from the bench and he definitely made a difference as his physicality was problematic and headed an injury-time equalizer.
Played the final 20 minutes and had a golden opportunity to grab a late equalizer as he chested the ball down in the area before shooting, but Howard made the save.
The first American to win the FA Cup, and Everton would not still be in with a shout of winning it this year if it was not for Howard. There was not much he could have done about Oldham's goals, but he made three outstanding stops late on in an attempt to seal the victory for the Toffees.
Not one of his more impressive Everton performances. He seemed a little reluctant to be his usual gung-ho self and had his hands full with Croft. When he did attack, Croft generally followed him back
Caught out for Obita's opener, Jagielka made up for it by putting in a solid display. On the occasions he dueled with Iwelumo he came out on top, and he then gave Everton the lead early on the second half with an easy header.
Injury has kept the Frenchman out recently and he has been sorely missed with Johnny Heitinga providing a number of calamitous display in his place. However, he was back against Oldham and after Croft's early delivery evaded he and Jagielka, Distin put in a commanding performance.
Aside from a couple of shots and free kick deliveries, the former Manchester United man was very quiet at the center of Everton's midfield. His passing was generally accurate, however.
Left for dead by Croft in the build-up to Oldham's opening goal as he gambled to make a challenge but ended up over-compensating before being put on his backside. He went on to have an unspectacular match, but he will be content after breaking up play well in the center.
It was almost a surprise not to see Phil Jones follow the Belgian out of the tunnel at the beginning of the match after being marked out of the defeat to United by the England defender. However, much to the delight of Fellaini he had a much easier match this week, even if he was still nowhere near as influential as usual.
The versatile veteran started at right back again at Boundary Park and he had a tough test for an hour. Obita's pace and movement caused him endless problems before getting injured and subsequently replaced. He also picked up a yellow card for a foul on the Reading youngster.
The South African's partnership with Baines was evident in a few moves, but it was not as fruitful as it has been this season. He produced number of clever flicks and almost bagged a sensational solo goal, but his performance was fairly average.
Jelavic continues to look a shadow of the player he was last season in front of goal. His overall play was good as he linked up well with Fellaini and Anichebe, but he looked very nervous in the penalty area.
Caused a number of problems for the Oldham defense in the first half and equalized with a good finish after edging M'Voto out of the way. However, his night was cut short due to injury and was replaced by Mirallas at halftime.
Came on in the final 10 minutes as Everton looked to secure the win and he rarely touched the ball. They ultimately failed.
Replaced Jelavic with three minutes to go as Everton tried to defend some late corners. The result was the hosts scoring from one.
Went on a few mazy runs after coming on at halftime, but most of the time he either ran the ball out of play or was dispossessed.
