  DID YOU KNOW?
  • Chicago and New England are in sixth and seventh place respectively in the Eastern Conference, on the cusp of the playoff berths. The Fire have 31 points through 22 games, while the Revolution have 30 points through 23 games.
  • Both teams made significant additions this week, with the Revolution acquiring USA striker Charlie Davies on loan from Randers and the Fire adding Uruguayan midfielder Arevalo Rios as a Designated Player.
  • Davies scored 11 goals in 26 games while on loan from Sochaux to D.C. United in 2011.
  • To make room for Rios, the Fire parted ways with DP striker Sherjill MacDonald.
  • The Revolution won the teams' only other meeting this season, taking a 1-0 result at Toyota Park on March 9 behind a goal from Jerry Bengtson. It was New England's first win at the venue since 2006, snapping an 0-6-1 skid there.
  • Chicago forward Chris Rolfe is known for his attacking prowess, but it was his defense that secured three points last week, with his goal-line header clearing away an attempt at an equalizer in second -half stoppage time of Chicago's 2-1 win over Montreal.
  • The Fire are unbeaten in four games, going 3-0-1 in that stretch, including two straight wins.
  • The Revs, conversely, have lost their last two games and were shut out in both contests, which came against at home against Toronto FC and at Sporting Kansas City.
  • Chicago's Mike Magee is tied for the league lead in goals with 14.
  • New England left back Kevin Alston made his first start since being diagnosed with leukemia last week, playing 57 minutes against Sporting KC.
