Sounders FC lost the first match of the 2013 MLS season at home to the visiting Montreal Impact.

The Montreal Impact beat the Seattle Sounders 1-0 thanks to a Davy Arnaud strike.
Montreal grabbed the goal with 10 minutes remaining in the first half. Felipe scooped the ball over the Sounders back line, and Davy Arnaud with one touch lifted the ball delicately out of Michael Gspurning's wingspan.
In front of 39,000 fans, Seatte pushed for an equalizer and hit the post twice through Brad Evans and Eddie Johnson.
