FC Dallas 1-0 Colorado Rapids: Jackson goal starts FCD off with three points
Dallas grabbed a win to start the season, with Jackson netting the game's only goal.

Taking advantage of a costly mistake made by the Colorado goalkeeper Steward Ceus, Jackson scored an early goal and gave FC Dallas a 1-0 win over the Rapids to open the season.
FC Dallas took the lead in the 11th minute when Rapids goalkeeper Ceus misjudged a pass and came out too far, allowing the ball to bounce over his head. Jackson capitalized on the blunder and confidently walked the ball into the net.
The Rapids debuted a new look and a handful of their new players, including rookies Deshorn Brown and Dillon Powers. In the 14th minute, Powers set up Brown who had a shot on goal, but FC Dallas 'keeper Raul Fernandez was not to be beaten.
Midway through the first half, Jair Benitez was carried off the field after being struck in the ribs. Michel made his MLS debut, subbing in for the injured 34-year old Colombian and putting in a solid shift in his first outing.
In spite of impressive possession by the visiting team, Dallas defended its net well and earned the club its first three points of the season.
