Stoke City's Choupo-Moting endures mixed fortunes in seven-minute cameo

Eric Choupo-Moting endured mixed fortunes in Stoke City's 2-1 loss to Everton in Saturday’s English Premier League outing.

The 28-year-old came off the bench to score his first goal of the year but was replaced after he got injured.

After falling behind to Cenk Tosun's strike, the former Schalke 04 player was introduced for Egyptian Ramadan Sobhi in the 72nd minute and made an instant impact, scoring five minutes later to level proceedings for the Potters.

However, the joy was shortlived as he was replaced 79th minute after picking an injury.

Tosun then completed his brace with six minutes left on the clock to help Sam Allardyce’s men to their 11th win in the top-flight this season.

Senegal's Idrissa Gueye featured from start to finish as he ended on the winning side, alongside DR Congo's Yannick Bolasie who made way for Mason Holgate in the 90th minute.

Choupo-Moting has now scored five goals in the topflight this season and it remains uncertain if he would play a part when Stoke take on Arsenal in their next league game on April 1.
