Asian Cup 2019: India lining up games against Syria and Saudi Arabia

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) are close to arranging internationalfriendlies against Syria and Saudi Arabia in the month of October and November respectively as part of the preparation for the Asian Cup.

While Syria are ranked 76th in the world, Saudi, who have qualified for the World Cup, are placed at 67.

After the Intercontinental Cup, the next major assignment for the Indian national team would be to play an international friendly at home with Syria being the possible opponents.

The following month shall see Stephen Constantine’s team travel to Jeddah and play against The Green Falcons.

The I-League and the Indian Super League (ISL) will have a break after the first week of December following which the national team shall convene for their final preparation ahead of the Asian Cup.

The Blue Tigers are expected to leave for UAE in the latter half of December to play at least a couple of friendlies before their first game on January 6 against Thailand.
