Tanzania's Simba put a foot in the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup after managing a 4-0 home victory over Djibouti's Gendarmerie in the first leg of the preliminary round of the competition played on Sunday at the National Stadium in Dar es salaam.

The Msimbazi side will head to Djibouti for the preliminary round return leg in top gear, as Gendarmerie need to score at least five unanswered goals to edge them out.

Led by the former Azam attacker, the Msimbazi side started the game on high note, taking the lead in the first minute when pivotal and talented midfielder Saidi Ndemla fired a 20 yards free kick past goalie Bilal Ahmed, earning the hosts an early lead.
