EPL Review: Joy for Merseyside teams
2. Spurred by Bale
A first win since 1989 at Old Trafford - no wonder the Spurs management team were exuberant in celebrating their thrilling 3-2 win over an unimpressive Manchester United. Inspired by Gareth Bale, who scored one and assisted another, Spurs were simply too good for the Red Devils. Probably given the infamous hairdryer treatment by Sir Alex Ferguson at half-time, United appeared a different side in the second half and very nearly snatched something with quick-fire goals from Nani and Kagawa. However, it was too little too late for the Red Devils as they slumped to their second defeat of the season, setting them back in their challenge to regain the League title.
