Under a certain previous national-team manager, it was seen as Socceroos selection suicide to move back to the A-League in the prime of your career. But Holger Osieck has shown enough faith in the domestic competition for 29-year-old Coe to be confident in leaving Europe and joining Melbourne Victory last season. The Brisbane-born keeper managed to win over the Victory fans - who are famously fickle when it comes to goalkeepers - and play a solid debut season with the club. His form became stronger at the tail end of the term, suggesting his second season could propel him into Socceroos contention.
