His arrival has generated quite the buzz in Turin, with new team-mates as excited to work with a modern-day legend as a loyal fan base are to see him in action.

Germany international Can is among those eager to open an exciting new chapter, with the 24-year-old having also linked up with Juve this summer after reaching the end of his contract at Liverpool.

He told Bild: “I’ve had the privilege and luck of playing with some world-class champions in the past, but Ronaldo is something else.

“He left his mark on this era of football. Juventus were already strong, but Cristiano would improve any team.

“He’s exceptional, I’m really happy to be able to play with him.”

Ronaldo has agreed a lucrative four-year deal with Juve which will see him earn €30 million (£26.5m/$35m) a season.

He is expected to help the Bianconeri maintain their domestic dominance in Italy, with an eighth successive Serie A title set to be chased down in 2018-19.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side are also looking for Ronaldo to inspire their quest for European glory.

He has proved to be a thorn in their side over recent years, as Real have swept to three Champions League crowns in a row and four over a five-year period, but he is now on their side and seeking to replicate the success he has previously enjoyed at home and abroad with Manchester United and Madrid.
